The top panel is He Xuan with long ears downcast and wearing dark robes with silver designs, two fish bones are hanging at each side of him. Bottom panel is Shi Qingxuan sitting in a bed with a bunch of shiny objects in her lap, she is holding the piece of paper with the ring, she is surrounded by different sized fish bones, two smaller ones are hidden under her sleeve and tangled between her hair, there's an onix cane next to the bed.

summary: “Come on,” Shi Qingxuan wheedles, fan falling away from her face, “you didn’t tell me you knew things like this! Does this fall under Earth Master jurisdiction, or something?”

“Of course it doesn’t,” He Xuan scoffs. “Why would it?”

“Then it has to be from your mortal life!” she crows triumphantly. She leans all the way in, their faces just inches from each other. He Xuan’s dead heart is suddenly in his throat. “Tell me, Ming-xiong! Were you involved with plays and theater when you were a mortal? Is that why you can tell all of that is evidently not up to standard?”

“It’s sloppy is what it is,” He Xuan says, and immediately regrets it. Shi Qingxuan’s grin is not dissimilar to the one his fiancé had worn when she discovered He Xuan had a deft hand with makeup, both functional and theatrical.

or: after the Mid-Autumn festival, He Xuan lets slip a thing or two about his mortal life in Fu Gu, where he wasn’t just a scholar. Shi Qingxuan is (in)appropriately delighted by this.

⚪🔵⚫A PEARL IN THE SEA LIKE A STAR IN THE SKY My art for this years #beefleafminibang @beefleafevents.bsky.social My Team! Writer: shadowFuka (Ao3) Podfic: Onilily (Ao3) An Illustration representing the story! Thank you all for your hard work! It was lovely. Links below! ⏬ #tgcf #beefleaf

Titel: A pearl in the sea like stars in the sky
Medium: Watercolor

A monochrome Painting showing two characters from Heaven Officials Blessing: on the bottom left, Shi Qingxuan. They are looking with a seeing, anxious expression into the distance, their wavy hair transitioning into the background. Their hand is nervously hold close to their chest. Behind them is a shining Pearl, with a fish on front of it. The fish has closed eyes, floats in a dreamlike stance and has two injured fins. On the top right is He Xuan, his body facing away from Shi Qingxuan, his expression cold. He stares intensely at Shi Qingxuan, his hair flowing around him in dark, long strands. Around the scene are a variety of He Xuans ghostly Bone fish, centering around the pearl and fish. Smaller floks of fish surround and swim towards the pearl too.

Art for the @beefleafevents.bsky.social minibang! JungleFae wrote an amazing modern ballet genderswap, go read it 🫵 archiveofourown.org/works/81857856 #beefleafminibang

Genderbent Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan cradling each other mournfully while kneeling backstage.

Shi Qingxuan is dressed as Odette from Swan Lake, while He Xuan wears a black turtleneck and sweatpants.

Cool light and fog drifts from the stage onto Shi Qingxuan, while warm light in the opposite direction highlights He Xuan.
