Learning to do makeup at 51, I still have no idea what I'm doing. I know it would be a lot more fun to have someone else to practice with. Don't even get me started on my eyebrows, I'm truly lost on what to do there.

I turned 51 today! It's my 3rd birthday living fully as myself. I'll never get back all the years I spent hiding but I'm here now and I'm happy with who I am for the first time. I do wish I weren't sleeping alone (especially on my birthday) but there's still time to work on that.

I think I'm around 3 days or so. I see my therapist one day a week and my 16y/o 1 or 2 times a week depending on how busy they are. The rest of the time I'm alone. I did recently befriend another Trans Woman close to my age and we've hung out a couple times so maybe things are changing.

Sometime in November of 2025 I was in crisis and I hacked all my hair off. I've done it many times before, it's a less permanent form of self harm. I'm really hoping that was the last time.

I knew I was going to die unless I transitioned, I had already tried. The crazy thing is I wrecked my life by trying to be who they told me to be. I was so bad at pretending to be someone I'm not that everyone in my family except my youngest child left me before I even came out.

I was a performing songwriter for 30+ years. A little over 2 years ago I transitioned and the gigs started drying up. I live in East TN so it's not hard to figure out why. I thought my performing days may be over but today I got an offer to play my local Pride Fest in June!

Each time they tell me they'll get in touch and we'll work something out but I never hear back from them. The support group was the only time I got to be around other Trans people. Being a Trans woman in East TN sucks for a million reasons.
