total agreement! Nothing better than a card that has art and is actually useful in a game. Is there a card, in your deck that has that quality right now?

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

MTG players, what makes you instantly love a card? The artwork? Flavor text? Mechanics? The art is definitely what gets me first 😭 #magicthegathering #mtg

Serializing on Patreon/Ko-fi sounds like a great path! Since I design custom artwork for authors, my brain immediately jumps to visual promos are you planning to feature any character art or custom graphics to help launch the chapters?

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Congrats, that's huge! Finishing editing and revisions is such a major milestone.

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Coming of age horror is such a great mix the stakes always feel so much higher with younger characters! What's the main premise or vibe of 'The Eleventh Hour'?

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Of course! Action scenes like that always spark so many mental visuals for me as a digital artist it sounds like it’s going to be such an intense story! Are you currently working on the full manuscript?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Ah, the main crew! Love the emoji lineup tells a story already. Is 🐦‍⬛ for The Raven from the countdown, or do they all have distinct roles/vibes like that?

010

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

An informal mini article format sounds like such a cool way to present it! Especially since you already have a full encyclopedia, a lighter bio gives readers a fun, quick snippet without feeling too heavy. Have you picked which character you’d want to do first if you decide to test it out?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Fair enough! Sometimes the best ideas just need time to simmer. What is it about Legend of Gardyan's sheets that caught your eye the visual layout, the character lore details, or a mix of both?

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Ooh yes, character sheets and extra snippets add so much depth! As an artist, I always love seeing character sheets visualizing characters like that makes them feel so much more alive. What kind of details or vibe are you thinking of including for them?

120

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

The visual of them fighting through the mud in the pouring rain is so vivid! "Two grieving, furious creatures" is such a great way to describe that dynamic.

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

This dynamic is elite, especially in a space opera setting! That slow burn under the guise of sarcasm always gets me. Is this for your main couple?

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

The feeling of knowing you're going to discard the edits tomorrow is so real haha. Great progress on the clean draft though!

010

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

100% agree with this! When my brain is fried, standard sci-fi and fantasy are my ultimate comfort zone, but stepping outside that always leads to the best surprises. What genre ended up unexpectedly taking the top spot for you?

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Congrats on sharing them! Horror short stories are always fun to dive into. Do you have a favorite one out of the batch you've posted so far?

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Huge congrats on the nominations! That cover design is gorgeous best of luck with the final week of voting! 🤞

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

The countdown excitement is real! Ooh, tease with the Tumblr plans spill a little, what kind of vibes or content are you planning for when [A1] kicks off? 👀

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Acknowledging grief without romanticizing it is such a delicate balance to strike. The blend of weight and hope sounds like it makes for a really resonant story.

010

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Love a good gritty fantasy vibe the whole Blackwatch premise sounds so intriguing! Congrats on the box set release!

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

The day after Annalynn Hale's dad died, she ran away." Okay, talk about a hook that immediately grabs you! That first line is heavy.

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Checking with the other author was such a smart move! It sucks you had to deal with all that stress, but I'm really glad you caught it before losing any money. Hope the rest of your week is a lot more lowkey!

010

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

me: i’ll just make a quick sketch also me 3 hours later: *redrawing the same hand for the 18th time*

021

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Ugh, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! The sheer amount of AI scammers pushing fake work lately is exhausting. Glad your email ended up being safe though did you end up catching it before paying them anything?

Plagon seafood deck sounds hilarious! 😭 Zask insect tribal is so cool too.

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Haha having those random expensive creatures sitting in bulk feels like winning the lottery! Is Sefris your main deck right now, or are you building other stuff too?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Oh nice! Sefris is such a fun commander once you get the engine going. Did you end up budgetizing the land base or the combo pieces mostl

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

pulling off a Sefris infinite dungeon combo in a real game feels so satisfying! How long have you been tuning this deck?

Finished up this Sung Jinwoo animated wallpaper commission! ⚔️ Excited with how the shadow aura animations turned out. Commissions are open for custom animated graphics, live wallpapers, and channel assets! #art #animeart #sololeveling #sungjinwoo #animation #commission

This MTG card was a commission, but the client ghosted me after I finished it 😭 No payment, no reply. So now it’s looking for a new home! Selling it for super cheap DM me if you’re interested 😂

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Blightsteel Colossus as Dr. Eggman is honestly inspired choice haha, love that setup. Is this for an equipment-heavy deck?

210

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

random question lol if you could have any character or OC drawn exactly the way you imagine them, who would it be? 👀 I’m curious what y’all would pick #Art #OC

Using creature Sagas as actual blockers and recursion targets is such a fun synergy! Having a 7/7 Tom beating down while summons do work sounds like a great time. Definitely checking out the Moxfield link!

021

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

That actually sounds like a really fun way to pilot Killian 😅 I like decks that can turn the whole table's creatures into part of the game plan. Do you have any other commanders you enjoy playing when you're not in full politics mode?

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Ohhh Eriette makes that strategy way nastier 😂 Turning their own auras into a win condition is such a fun twist. Was Eriette the commander for the deck, or were you running her in the 99?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Tom Bombadil with mostly FF Sagas sounds pretty sweet 😂 how’s it been playing so far? Are the Summon Sagas actually doing the heavy lifting or is Tom just doing Tom things?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Honestly, winning through a flood of lands with some well-placed auras sounds pretty satisfying 😂 Which auras ended up doing the most work for you?

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Tempestuous Kiss being the “much needed support” is killing me 😂 Is Runebattle an actual deck or just part of the joke?

Yeah, thank you so much I’m actually pretty new to MTG myself, and I only recently started designing custom MTG cards for people as part of my commissions I’ve been having a lot of fun with them so far though!

000

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Haha yes absolutely finding cool custom art proxies for your Commander is such a huge part of making the deck feel truly yours. I’ve actually designed a few custom MTG proxy cards myself! I’d love to chat more about it in DMs if that works for you

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

As a digital artist, I can totally see why this one caught your eye The lighting, glowing eyes, and that golden detail in the center are so striking. The artwork has such a powerful, magical feel to it. What other MTG cards have artwork that really stand out to you?

100

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Those cards are gorgeous I can definitely see why you grabbed them for your next deck and honestly, the artwork on MTG cards is one of my favorite parts too. What deck are you building with these?

110

Naomi Butler @naomibutler.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

I can totally see why the art on Revel in Riches has so much personality it’s definitely one of those cards that makes you stop and admire it I actually make custom MTG cards too, and I’d love to show you some of my work if you’d like to see it!
