Since it finally came out on BluRay last month and I now have a screenshot of the credits on there, I can officially say that I was the translator for the anime Bad Girl, which aired last summer!~ I had so much fun working on it, and I'm so happy to have translated my first anime! ★

A screenshot of the English Language Production credits on the BluRay disc of anime series Bad Girl. It shows the poster, Ella Donaldson, credited as the Project Translator, her first anime credit.

A promotional image for the anime Bad Girl, featuring main characters Yuu Yuutani, Atori Mizutori, Rura Ruriha, and Suzu Suzukaze, along with the letters that make up the anime title. Yuu is a short girl with a dark brown bob that has hot pink underneath, she is wearing a zip-up hoodie over her school uniform. Atori is dressed neatly with a dark grey waistcoat over her school uniform of white long-sleeved blouse and short pleated grey skirt, and wears black tights. She has long red hair with purple ends, tied in a ponytail. Rura has shoulder-length wavy dark green hair with lighter ends, worn in two pigtails with a flower decoration on each hair tie. She wears a baggy pink sweater over her uniform, and knee-high black and white lace up boots. Suzu has medium-long ash-blonde hair with pink ends tied in a side ponytail with one half of her fringe braided and pinned at the side of her head. She wears a light blue cardigan over her uniform.

Hi, I'm Ella, I translate manga from JP ⇒ EN. I started working as a freelance translator in Jan 2022, but I've been learning Japanese for about 14 years I've worked on: ⭐The Barbarian's Bride ⭐The Café Terrace and its Goddesses ⭐Moebana ⭐BAKEMONOGATARI ⭐Dazzling Spring Days and more!

The cover of the first volume of The Warrior Pincess and the Barbaric King. Serafina, a woman dressed in armour, with long blonde hair and blue eyes, smiles nervously while holding a sword to her neck. Around her neck is a gold metal choker, and she has a dark blue ribbon at the back of her hair.

The cover of the first volume of The Cafe Terrace and its Goddesses. Five girls dressed in blue waitress uniforms with white pinstripes and black ruffle trim are smiling and posing at the viewer. Ouka is in the centre and has pale reddish-pink hair with a fringe. Shiragiku is in the top left and has a dark green long bob with a straight fringe. Akane is in the top right and has a pale yellow-blonde bob with a long fringe. Ami is in the bottom left and has long dark blue hair tied in a high ponytail. Riho is in the bottom right and has light gingery-blonde hair in pigtails, and a sideswept fringe.

The cover of the first volume of Moebana. Tsukumo, a friendly teenage boy with warm-toned light pink hair and pink eyes, is holding a peony and smiling.

Dazzling Spring Days (Japanese Title Haru Kurari - 春くらり), another series I translated, is now available on K MANGA! It's a heartwarming story about a high-school manga artist and his muse ^-^ I really enjoyed working on it, I hope people like it~ kmanga.kodansha.com/title/10690/...

The cover of the first volume of Dazzling Spring Days, a manga. Kuraki, a tall male high schooler with straight black hair long enough to cover his ears, smiles shyly at Haruno, a shorter female high schooler with long pale ginger hair. Both of them are holding red flowers and wearing Japanese school uniform.

Manga companies, please pay us $8/page! The small and new publishers can do it, surely the big companies with owners who make $3 million+ per year can afford it too!! x.com/MangaAlerts/...

A little late to the party, but here's a recap of the manga I translated in 2025!~ I continued working on The Barbarian's Bride, and finished translating the simul for The Café Terrace and its Goddesses when it finished in October. There're also some new series coming this year!~

A collage of manga covers showing the volumes and chapters that Ella Donaldson has translated this year. It includes 4 volumes and 12 chapters of fantasy series The Barbarian's Bride, 5 volumes and 37 chapters of rom-com harem series The Cafe Terrace and its Goddesses, and 1 chapter of an as yet unrevealed series.

Last week I finally went to Barnes & Noble and got my hands on the second volume of one of the series I translate, The Barbarian's Bride! (the stores I went to in the UK never had them in-store T^T) Can't believe the third volume'll be out next month already! 🤩
