… Like Bradbury, I and my floaty pink pillow definitely saw them. Odd that I have never once thought of getting back at my childhood tormentors or any of the others. I forgive them, because people make horrible mistakes. (It’s okay, you jerks. Just don’t do it again. )

That story made the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up! Mind you, not because I had ever wished my tormentors harm. In fact, I never have. They just made me sad because they, as many since, never saw me. But, like Bradbury …

A very fancy fountain: a little ink drawing. ✍️ #digitalDrawing #Procreate #art #artyear #colorADay #BWFri #notAI subject provided by the charming Stephen Travers on YouTube.

An ink-style drawing of a fancy fountain from somewhere in Australia.

Darkness does not fall; it climbs up from the deeps of the earth to meet the sky. #digitalPainting #abstract #forest #art #notAI #moody

He was apparently alive yesterday…but I also suspect he will be patient zero of the zombie apocalypse. Don’t let him bite anyone!

Thanks for the linkie! I agree. He was one of the first sci-fi writers I read, too.

Like the other kids thinking you’re odd. I mean, we’re all odd, and so what? Own it. This is for my younger self and yours, too: we were always perfect just as we were

So, this is what childhood demons really are, when examined closely: silly and harmless. Not talking here about real bad stuff, just the hateful burdens one carries for far too long. …

Couple of nights ago, #childhood-demons were upon me. Kids used to taunt me with “funny face pillow” when I was 8 or 9. Etc. I realized these asshats are probably dead by now. This is too long to carry this… so I decided to let the demon out. Voila! Cute character!
