Earlier this year, the FCC imposed a ban on future foreign consumer routers. This effectively prevented any affected routers from being sold in the US. However, the agency created exceptions if manufacturers could convince the US government that they were not a security threat and submit a time-bound plan detailing how they would establish or expand manufacturing in the US. ASUS received conditional approval on September 9, but it won't say exactly how it will escape the US router ban.

Phone companies make it their top priority to make you feel like you're missing out if you don't buy the latest release. It doesn't matter how recent your existing phone is, or whether it still performs admirably - there's always that little thought in the back of your mind that makes you wonder what you can get out of upgrading.

Apple is adding new security measures to how "Full Disk Access" works in macOS to address the growing risk of AI agents. Apple's mega-keynote this week — the first for the company's new CEO, John Ternus — saw the Cupertino company unveil its first foldable iPhone duo. As someone who has seen and tested the majority of the best folding phones ever made in the last seven-or-so years, I have to say I was even more impressed with Apple's first outing than I expected.

The good news is that any iPhone running iOS 26 can also run iOS 27, although some of the more advanced Siri AI features (such as the ability to change its pace and 'expressiveness') are only available on newer models with more powerful chipsets.

Ever since Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo last month, almost everyone who has seen and held it hasn't stopped raving about the hardware. Between its thin profile and that seamless interior display, the iPhone Duo could really be the one to convince people to upgrade to a foldable phone. However, there is one particular characteristic that has stolen the conversation: the nano-texture coating on its 7.6-inch main display.

Even the bands remain compatible over the past 12 generations. Meanwhile, for the iPhone, it took 10 years for Apple to move the home button from under the screen, with the 2017 iPhone X marking a new era for the series.

Like many people who just installed the new iOS 27, you're probably wondering why Siri doesn't quite look like the new all-singing, all-dancing AI assistant you were promised. You'd be forgiven for wondering if Siri AI is just another glitch.
