I don’t recall where I found this representation of what John Lennon would look like if he was still alive. Imagine.

I have a list he could use as a reference for Democratic socialist policies. Most have been around all my long life.

“…officials are seeking to use a…fund…created…to help low-income & working-class parents afford child care so they could work or go to school. Under the draft new rule parents who stay home with their children could benefit from the program which typically provides about $9K per child each year...”

Social media was once a new thing. Left to their own devices (pun intended) social media platforms addicted many including children. Congress did nothing. So most state AGs took on the job & got Meta to settle their case with agreement on protections. Thank you to the 51 AGs (3 have separate cases).

Lena Dunham’s remembrance really touched my heart. I have watched every episode of Call the Midwife. It’s wonderful to know that Gloria Steinem loved it & why. It’s a show about a group of women whose vocation is to help other women to survive. May her memory be a blessing.

Trump thinks Ontario is exclusively a Canadian name. Actually that isn’t the case. He won Ontario County, NY in 2016, 2020 & 2024. I hope most of his voters there, if not all of them, hate him now.

If only it was this easy to get him out of the WH in reality.

He’s not counting on more voters. He’s actively working to have less people vote. It’s reported that 5.24% (not a typo) of voters in AL voted in their primary on Tuesday. AL.com says the turnout was caused by confusion, apathy & little competition. That’s tragic. Please vote!

My grandmother lived so close we communicated in person. I still remember both our original number & the 2nd number my mom got when my sister was in her teens & started to monopolize the phone. My mom also put locks on the phones (ours was black).

I love Mayor Mamdani, everything he does & says. Let’s not make it into a competition. I can only guess you’re too young to remember the joy at the Election Night 2008 victory rally. It was after midnight & I was exhausted. So I stood in front of my TV to be sure I wouldn’t doze & miss any of it.

I could never have envisioned how insidious and pervasive this authoritarian wave would be. I can’t forgive any independent or formerly reasonable Republican who voted to give this guy a 2nd term after what they saw on Jan 6. We must all do all we can to vote & make sure that vote counts.

According to Google AI it’s being funded by UFC which in turn has corporate sponsorship, is selling tickets for huge sums & has broadcast revenue. There’s a little bit of gov’t funding involved. p.s. Trump has stock in UFC. He’s profiting from this.

It’s a cardinal. They are lovely. I live in a suburb with very little wildlife around, but I do occasionally see cardinals in my back yard. Also, blue jays (photo is from the internet).

I don’t believe he’ll watch the entire game whether he drops in to MSG for a few minutes or stays home. He’ll just find out who won & take credit for something or other. He cannot tarnish my joy for the NY Knicks!

TIL that Wemby’s name full name is Victor Nonga Wembanyama-de Fautereau-Vassel. It’s almost as long as he is tall. His family has been into sports, particularly basketball, for generations. I love that he reads before each game. However, I am a diehard Knicks fan! Go NY, Go NY, Go!

My uncle Gus would be disgusted if he knew he fought for the corruption we have going on now. I’m told that he was a driver for General Patton & was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He came back with what was then called shell shock & is now called PTSD.

Thanks. I looked again. On my first search I easily found what’s in the screenshot below. When I checked again I saw a link under Policy Rollouts that led to a PDF that does indicate support for M4A and other good policies. It seemed easier to find months ago.

They’re all quite lovely. My mom’s birthstone was opal so I’m biased toward the antique opal brooch. I took some time browsing through her entire collection on jillwinebanks.com. These are cool!

It’s cold on Long Island for this time of year too, although not quite that bad. Nassau County showed up for No Kings! Keep watching, the big pause near the beginning was for a red light. For no reason that I can figure out there was a bigger police presence today.

I could never imagine growing asparagus. We tried broccoli 2 years ago for the first time. It grew, but we didn’t harvest it timely. Usually we do tomatoes & cukes. It’s no where near time to plant yet here. We still have a little snow on the ground. I took a picture of one piece of our broccoli.

I get the point, but it’s way too dangerous for this to pass at all much less in its current form. It’s reported that the act could cause voters to be wrongly purged from the voting rolls AFTER it’s too late to re-register & the new version requires all states to give voter data to DHS.

There are some red states governors up for reelection & some red states in which the governor is term limited or retiring. Let’s go Democratic candidates! Tell the voters that if they elect you you’ll issue the WH an invoice.

Holy crap. He wants a stadium across from the WH, a humongous triumphal arch on the DC mall & now this? I hope Congress can stop it. The election in Texas shows that Independents & some Republicans are fed up, but Jan 27 may be too late for what he plans to do to the Kennedy Center.

I loved the scene at the site of the Fed Building renovation where Trump, who considers himself a builder, embarrasses himself by handing Powell a paper he thinks proves malfeasance. Powell takes a nanosecond to figure out it doesn’t.

I emailed each of my senators a few minutes ago. One is Schumer who put out a statement that he won’t provide Democratic votes to pass the appropriations bill with DHS funding in it. I advised him of my total support on that position. I emailed Gillibrand that I totally support Schumer’s position.
