Shifting gears today, because I'm letting the pirate novel rest for a bit. I will make my second pass over its entirety with fresh eyes. So today I booted up the 6th fantasy novel in my Greenwood Cycle series and worked on that, adding 1,108 words. Hadn't done anything with it since April 21st!

I did some writing on the pirate novel today, but I also subtracted part of the final section and reworked areas. I decided that leaving it on an uncertain note held more weight than laying out what happens next. So for today minus 538 words is my total. Two of those added were very special though!

Both yesterday and today I got to writing late because of other stuff. Yet I added 503 words yesterday and 533 today to the 11th pirate novel. It's about done but I need a bangup finishing sentence and that totally eluded me. Maybe tomorrow?

Couple days ago I put 200 words on the pirate novel. Today I added 400 more. Tuesday toward evening we got news the cat we wanted to adopt was on his way over. He got crated with all ammenities. Yesterday he saw the vet and he's healthy & has his first shots. Meet Jasper Hansen, our newest fur kid!

Not a hefty writing afternoon with only 593 words added to the pirate novel in notes at the end. I did watch some videos to help me coordinate an important fight scene to make it smooth and believable. Research is often a huge factor in writing as we stretch ourselves ouside of our comfort zone.

More work done on the pirate novel today, another 740 words on the pirate novel. Kinda sleepy; yesterday I decided to look into getting a 4th cat. A friend has one hanging out in their backyard that needs a home. I wanted sleep—my brain was going over names and hoping it goes well. Happy Caturday!

Had to put away a couple loads of clean laundry this afternoon or I'd be tripping over it. Still got some writing in, another 320 words on the pirate novel. Since it's almost officially fall, we're seeing the emergence of pumpkin spice everything—including an air freshener that kills your sinuses!🤧

Today I added another 830 words to the pirate novel. A BIG action scene starts now. I'm also an avid reader, I've been making my way through Robert Jordan's WHEEL OF TIME series on my Kindle. Read the prequel and 11 books so far, started #12 last night. I find that readers make for better writers.

Took yesterday off to go over what I read last night to my Zoom writer's group. Back on the pirate novel today, where yet another 700 words got added to the pirate novel. For three sessions now I've ended with 700 more words. I think I'm on a roll, and mine is gonna be sesame. LOL!

Didn't post yesterday because dinner was early. I did put another 700 words on the pirate novel. Today however, I had an appointment & when I got there, someone shot me 4 times! Twice in the right shoulder for Covid & Flu, twice in the left for RSV & Shingles. 'Cause I'm that tough & that smart too!

I did put in some more time on the pirate novel today, adding another 700 words. The book is up over 58,000 words long now. This particular scene must be crafted slowly, it's actually a turning point in the life of the main character. So I want to make sure I get it... just... right. 😉🏴‍☠️

Only 330 words today on the pirate novel. I did take some time first to go over a short story in my files. Once I was positive it was in fine shape, I looked up submission guidelines for the online magazine publisher, and sent it in with a cover message. That stuff takes time but it's a great tale!

Only 610 words on the pirate novel today. I did have a welcome phone chat with #1 son, plus I called the vet, and I made myself a mega appointment for innoculations. The kitties are up to date, only needing a stool sample tested.💩🙀I'm getting my first Shingles, plus a Covid & a Flu shot on Monday.

Another 1262 words on the pirate novel today. I was writing a section that mentioned a 'bowstring'. When I looked up I had somehow typed 'bistring'. My mind immediately landed in the gutter, picturing a male exotic dancer with a wardrobe malfunction. I laughed so hard & long both cats freaked out!

Another decent writing afternoon, with 902 words added to the the 11th pirate novel. Some of them are pushed toward the end of the ongoing manuscript for the final wrapup scenes. I don't do that often, but when the ideas come freely, I listen to the muse and write those suckers down!

Working at home, career aspirations and mundane chores tend to coincide frequently, but I love the more relaxed atmosphere. Though I could use a lot more income, I truly enjoy what I do. I've been off social media a lot lately because I'm feverishly reading over the first in a series of fantasy novels I've written. I'm getting close to being able to submit this to a new publisher. Fantasy will always be my first love in writing, but it's been a hard sell so far. I am NOT giving up!

I took a day off from writing to go over roughly half of my pirate team-up story Monday and read that to my Zoom group Tuesday. They had some helpful comments. I fixed things up yesterday. I went back to the 11th pirate novel today, and in spite of sleepiness, got 600 more words on that.

As far as writing goes, I did have a productive day. Another 1,090 words on the pirate teamup story. One more cleanup scene and this is about done. It will need a solid proofreading run though, but I'll get to that once I'm satisfied it's completed.

Turned around after writing an intense scene, & here's what I saw. My 3 cats & the dog, all rescues, crashed together on my bed. They don't care how different they are, they're family now & have forever homes with good food, clean water, & people who love them. MAY THERE ALWAYS BE SUCH PEACE!🥰

Wow last post 18 days ago... I've been offline a lot, dealing with another couple of health issues—tendonitis in the left arm & now lowered bone density. Could be worse! I've written when possible though, all told in 14 sessions another 7,566 words on the pirate team-up novella. Publisher ok'd it!

Yes, I've been AWOL quite a bit online. I've had tendonitis all down my left arm, hard to type so I concentrated on writing off & on when I could manage the pain. It still adds up—all told I've added 2,634 words to the project I've been working on. Feeling quite a bit better as well. ✍️👩‍💻📃🤗🎉

Been busy around here! I've gotten a little writing done in between other demands on my time. I went back to the beginning of the pirate team-up short story with the idea of cutting some of it out, but I liked what I had too much. Father's Day was spent with family. I bought a stepstool used for campers, it really helped getting into the SUV. Got a bit of writing done in between important interruptions online or on the phone. Another 270 words on the short story & my cats will have litter delivered + the dentist has my info.😌

I've had to take a few days off from sitting at my desk because of lingering arthritis pain. I still got a little writing in whenever I could though. Thursday I put 300 words on the pirate short story, and added another 690 today. Feeling somewhat better, the pain is finally subsiding.🙂👍

Sometimes writing is more about research than getting words on a page. I did put 25 more words on the pirate teamup short story. I spent most of my time collecting information about the area the adventure is in and possible cryptid monsters or entities that might be encountered. This should be fun!

Back at my desk today. Though the words were coming slow, another 301 of them made it onto the pirate adventure short story. This one has a deadline so I am concentrating on that for now. After a few days rest I am feeling quite a bit better today. Much of the acute arthritis pain has subsided. 🫷😌🫸
