I hope she's just there for a checkup and everything's okay.

It's amazing what a difference consent makes... Probably too much to hope that the AI companies learn from this bit of positive engagement...

Hell, just to be in control of the formatting and length. Probably the biggest problem with the AI written vuln reports I've seen is that they're like 30 pages long with any useful information hidden better than fricken' Waldo.

The ERO side of ICE started out as INS long before ICE or DHS existed. They were a bunch of pricks back then too.

American company: approval can take up to six months and there's a 6-18 month lead time on new orders.

From the sounds of it, illegally importing and selling soviet smoke detector tubes as periodic table samples was one of the less terrible things he was doing. Got the full trifecta of "a very specific type of Libertarian"; guns, explosives, and CSAM.

Thanks to Au's atomic weight (and thus, density) combined with the various properties of everything heavier than it, pure gold is *extraordinarily* difficult to convincingly fake.

Archimedes' "Eureka!" was figuring out all you need is a scale and a tub of water to authenticate gold. Precious metals and uncut gems are the preferred currency for all manner of exceedingly shady things. They can be reworked without destroying the value and, once done, become impossible to trace.

I'll believe it when it happens. Promising to pay for stuff then never doing it is kind of his lifelong M.O.

I think, officially, one port was for the parent and the other was for the shoe salesman. I'm sure staring directly at an unmetered source multiple times a day, every day, was fine... not like radiation exposure is cumulative or anything...

Brings whole new meaning to "parental controls". And it's way harder than the version for kids. Kids, generally, can't just go out and buy a new device as a way to bypass any restrictions you've put on the ones they have.

So, bit of a warning; being more of an expert than the local "professionals" generally just means you end up with debilitating trust and control issues which then feed into generalized anxiety. Anything less than a formal contract with an airtight SOW is a crapshoot... with worse odds.

At a certain point it came back around to being impressive. You'd think at some point they'd have run out of vulnerabilities just by nature of there being a finite amount of code, but they *never* did.

Might not have been anything he did. I got mild CO poisoning because construction crew were running machinery next to the intake for my office's HVAC. In that case, they ran dirty enough we smelled diesel; a bit cleaner and we might not have noticed until someone keeled over.

I’m guessing it’s a lot less salacious than it sounds. There’s at least one company who makes penis shaped covers for mechanical bulls. Apparently they do numbers with bachelorette parties.

Definitely not in the ways they're talking about. That said, model the AVs after NA Miatas with the hardtop installed and that'll get you about 95% of the way there. Not impossible, but the flexibility and fitness requirements are high.

The name. I mean, the existence of one of the things it shares an initialism with is the *real* problem. Name collisions and the impregnable morass of modern licensing are annoying, but this particular one wouldn't be nearly as bad if people weren't horrifically shitty.

No, no; don't sugar coat things. That is an accurate assessment of the situation. It will make their lives easier too. EDR alerts dropped by like 80% when we deployed it (uBlock Origin, then lite), helpdesk calls for scareware all but stopped. Easily one of the highest ROI things they they can do.

Not worth it. In order to keep the smoke alarms from going off you have to have stuff opened up enough that any cold outside will come inside. Then everyone is cold. With an outdoor, only the person feeding/checking the smoker gets cold (and only for a few minutes at a time).

Given the level of overlap I've seen between "furries" and "people with absolute, obsessive, mastery of their chosen subject"; the captain and copilot boarding in full fursuit would be about the most reassuring thing I could see before takeoff.
