I think this is it. There have been worse expansions, but the potential of Midnight vs what we've got is a big miss. Also unpopular opinion but both TWW and Midnight doing a .1 patch where the driving main villain is mostly MIA was a mistake. The story momentum just died

A ton of low fantasy weapons and a witch cat for me. But yeah I already have all the returning stuff so that's a bummer. I wish I liked the new rogue-ish armor set but that big buckle on the chest is so unfortunately placed for the feminine model, I don't know what they were thinking 😔

I've gotten so much better over the years at managing my obsessive interest, and how that can lead to shutdown when waiting for a game to launch that is truly awful. It use to be pretty constant back in the golden MMO years where I was an absolute locust. NOT THIS TIME

The screenshot doesn't do it any justice but when they said at the evolving world panel that they wanted Forever to look like what Azeroth looks like in your memories ... they nailed it. This is exactly what I picture when I remember Darkshore. I got teary eyed 🥲

I'm curious to see how WoW does it, but the fact that I haven't played GW2 in almost 2 years and could hop on tonight and head straight into current content if I wanted is so ... freeing? I don't ever feel like I'm *missing* anything when I take a break, or play casual.

I've played two horizontal progression MMOs for a very long time (GW2 and FFXI era) and there is just something special about them. It's a concept that must be hard to wrap your head around if you've only played the treadmill genre that WoW established.

All this babble to say ... I am very excited for WoW Forever. It's going to let me dust off that original character profile and explore all those lost aspects of the retail version first hand. And also, to let Nahadris just exist in a world where her eyes will continue to shine silver, not black.

The themes of the Nahadris I've played for years now have centered around losing all those traits I created for way back when, in the contrast between the world before the War of Thorns, and after. And I have ALWAYS regretted not getting to actually roleplay the version of her I originally created.

I played a little in Legion - didn't RP. By the time I returned to WoW seriously Teldrassil had burned. It felt impossible to play the naive, curious, trouble maker I'd created all those years ago. I suffered what most NE RPers did, how do you reconcile experiencing a genocide? You have to change.

OC babble time! Nahadris was created in WoD specifically as a challenge to prove to myself that I could roleplay without my ex, and former RP partner, of ten years. I came up with a background that would allow me to RP basically anywhere, and with anyone while still being deeply kaldorei.

Work is terribly boring so my brain is buzzing with all the potential ways that WoW Forever could alter the narrative. There are a couple broadly reviled story/world choices that Blizz made in the early days that could be corrected. Just the absence of the Cataclysm is huge.

I'm gonna be real ... the fact that the Worldcore apparently fits in what is basically just a standard video game Big Room is disappointing. And it's just kinda ... there. If you didn't know what it was it would evoke very little mystic. Big dungeon glowy orb, check.

She is called Neighbor because she lives in the tree next door. Friend was the first one to not be afraid of me, Neighbor took some time to warm up but she frequently snoozes on a branch facing our door so she quickly figured out I keep walnuts in my pocket

Fortune's Weave is so ... strange. It's honestly refreshing to see a series as old and traditionally set in its ways as Fire Emblem do so many new things. And for a player like me who has always loved FE *despite* its core combat system, rather than because of it, it's SO NICE
