The figured decorative panels from a substantial floor, centred on an emblema of Hercules and the Lydian Queen, Omphale. As is typical of most versions of this myth, the two characters have swapped clothes, so the enthroned Omphale is shown wearing Hercules' lionskin and holding his club. The twelve surrounding panels shows the Labours of Hercules, with some slight damage to the 'Girdle of Hippolyte' in the upper left corner.

with all apologies to Ovid, who never had the chance to experience it, the best implement for writing elegiac couplets is a fat, juicy crayola marker. if it does not glisten on the page for a moment still wet, what are we even doing? (p.s. yes there are hot apples in this poem)
