While it is a flaw, we probably are in the best time for that not to matter. Hatdware prices are exploding. Gen on gen improvements are stagnating and it takes 3 years for a new generation to even come out at this point(for gpus at least). So at this point a worthwhile upgrade seems far off.

I understand why they do allow legacy version downloads. They already host a gazillions petabytes on their download server and don't want to multiply that by a hundred. But that does not justify there not being a 'do not update this game' button in game properties
