As teams are forming for Rabea Rogge's FRAM2Ham event, they are starting to look at equipment needs. The User Guide at FRAM2Ham.com has more detailed recommendations, but here's an overview of what teams should consider.

FRAM2 HAM: Engineering. Rabea Rogge will be transmitting SSTV puzzle images from the FRAM2 Dragon capsule. Equipment recommendations for participating teams: 435-438 MHz Receiver, optimally with 1 kHz tuning steps and computer control or memories to manage doppler correction. 7-14 Element Yagi Antenna, recommended antenna should have switched circular polarity. Preamplifier and Low-Loss Coax, 20 dB mast mounted preamp and LMR-400 or similar coax. More info in the user guide at Fram2Ham.com. The image includes logos for FRAM2 and ARISS ISS Amateur Radio.

Tommy, I get your desire. Right now Bluesky has a small audience compared to X and no metrics for groups to measure against except likes. That’s not enough for a lot of groups.

Here’s what it’s looking like in Chamblee (NE Atlanta Suburbs) at the moment. Snow turned to rain and freezing rain mid-morning. We’ve had about 0.5” of rain. Lots of freezing already and we’re just below 32F. Already had one power blip and hearing limbs fall nearby.

I'm watching Winter Storm Cora from my home in Chamblee, GA - 4 AM - Temps are just above freezing at 33F here. No reports of snow yet, including higher altitudes and more eastern parts of N. Georgia.

Since everyone has mentioned some kind of wintry weather this weekend for ATL, I thought it might be helpful to gather what everyone is saying in one place. Consensus seems to be a wintry mix with temps below freezing. NWS says 16% likelihood of 1" or more of snow.

Back to work on the NAS upgrade. Disk 1 was added last night and the data set restored itself. Now disk 2 is going in. Another 12 hours or so and then I'll have increased my storage by about 3x.
