Crossbow in the scheme of my homebrew unit The Broken Fang. A star of Steel Vipers survived the Annihilation by virtue of being too far away. They settle in the Clan Protectorate, where their mechs outlive the warriors. The unit still kept its colours #battletech #minipainting #mechwarrior

Locust IIC of the 1st Protectorate Guardians. My take on the canon scheme for them. Will be using this lil guy in an upcoming game. Got adventurous with the base, very happy with the result. #battletech #minipainting #mechwarrior Still a few touchups here and there that look worse in photos than irl

Toying with lists for an upcoming Ilkhan 6k bv game. Outside of the Firemoths (theyre cheap and do something) mostly picking on rule of cool/ i have this model and want to use it. #battletech #wargaming

Almost guarantee the opt out is placebo, theyre training on your shit anyway.

I've been a bit quiet on the painting front due to it being stupid cold down under. Frozen hands make for poor brushwork.

IWM Morrigan completes this second line star of Nova Cats. Neat little design. #battletech #minipainting

I have scars from a bite to this day. Wont kill you but yeah, unpleasant.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Be careful the wounds dont go septic on you, whitetail bites can do that.

I've been getting my wife into #minipainting. She's doing pretty good. Gave her one of my three Timberwolves to paint. #battletech

Cave Lion finished. Life got busy so completion was a bit delayed. Extremely expensive in BV for a 75 tonner but i look forward to using it on the table. #battletech #minipainting

Nova Cat B and a Wendigo round out the new metals. Yet to finalise the paint scheme for these but im thinking of matching all five to the black boots/white tops ive done previously. #battletech #ironwindmetals #miniaturepainting

Gonna be honest, assembly is my least favourite part of the hobby. I miss mono pose models sometimes.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 30/01/2026

The ocelot is quite large for a light mech, i assume thats just an oddity of when the sculpt was made.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 30/01/2026

3d printed bases arrived so im assembling some #ironwindmetals! Some of the later era Nova Cat mechs. L2R we have an Ocelot, Cave Lion and a Morrigan. Have a Wendigo and Nova Cat B still to come. Kodiak and Archer provided for scale. #battletech

Its either too hot or too humid for paint 40% of the time down under.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Got some metals from IWM today. Didn't realise they came without bases. Have to wait for some bases in the mail before i assemble them.

Make sure to save any cookie and candy tins you get this Christmas! They make fantastic storage boxes for miniatures! Just put little magnets under the bases of each unit and they stick really well! #Battletech #battletechminiatures #battletechhobby #mecha #paintedminiatures

Looking clean. Love the base. Do you use decals/transfers or is it free hand?

A shiny (literally) new Nightstar for the Unmarked (totally just pirates we swear). Photographing this was tricky, still working out my new phone camera and I think the metallics confuse it. This thing absorbed a fiendish amount of paint, it's so big. Sculpt is pretty nice. #battletech #minipainting

#battletech #minipainting #miniaturepainting Quartered livery archer done! I may add some unit markings later, going to do a lance to go with him. I prefer to keep my minis faction agnostic though. Base is inspired by roads i saw in Brazil.

The Vixens Locust was crippled early and was stuck in a shutdown/retreat loop (but lives to fight again). The Panther evaporated on the final turn when the Annihilator breathed on him. The Marauder was little more than a torso but held up three mediums all game. The Awesome lived up to its name.

010

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

The Unmarked scraped out a win and captured their objectives. The Annihilator and Centurion didnt make it and the Hatchetman was unconscious at game end. The Cataphract and Bushwacker managed to quit the field.

Game day! The mysteriously well equipped pirates the Unmarked (left, played by me) will be conducting a raid in territory garrisoned by the Canopian aligned mercenaries the Mithril Vixens (right, played by @arraxis.bsky.social). All minis painted by yours truly. #battletech

Emps is wiiide my gosh. Id guess he gets more light due to being so bulky so appears more yellow, especially to the camera.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

Once again digital photography murders a lot of the subtle transitions, also viewing up close like this shows up every tiny flaw.

Nova @n0-v4.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

Calling it done. Wasnt sure what i was doing with the base. Overall real happy with the effect, eldar are super fiddly to paint though. Scheme inspired by Gyunei Guss' Jagd Doga from Chars Counterattack. #warhammer40k #warhammer #miniaturepainting #aeldari
