In a few months I will turn 60. I have 4 granddaughters and so I need to stay fit. Last year my shoulder was replaced. Heavy lifting is over. However, creative mobile strength is not. I saw Sherein Abdelhady do banded earthquake pushups and had to try. My granddaughters thank you!

Not only do I have empathy with immigrants from Africa’s Great Lakes, I also have empathy because I too have twice been an undocumented immigrant. I understand overwhelming bureaucracy, life full of chaos, and fear when I cannot keep up with documents. davejenkins394305.substack.com/p/confession...

This week's Lectionary reading of Matthew 21:33-46 can be used to justify antisemitism. That's a dangerous misreading

If it took me 4 months to make that phone call about a single dangerous predator, how long would it take a young woman who faced 7 sexual predators? Yes, friends and time are necessary to find a sense of awareness and courage. Well done 👍 Jane Doe! Shame on you Megyn Kelly

I live in North Dakota’s Killdeer Mountains. My dog once had a conflict with a wolf. She lived through it. I was really shook up. I had to process the trauma and talk to my neighbors. 4 months later I called the Game and Fish Department to report the incident.

When one looks at our current political moment and the influence of white American evangelicals it is wise to ask, “How Did We Get Here?” I concur. I too am a Global Evangelical. There are familiar patterns that got us here. This is well worth the read christylynnewood.substack.com/p/how-did-we...

Yesterday, I visited 2 local churches led by immigrants. When I got home the dogs ran along as I mountain biked in the Killdeer Mountains near sunset. Leaves are turning and falling. The beauty is stunning! Thank you God!

Please don’t ever go to a local church out of guilt. There are circumstances where being low profile is prudent. The history of Christianity has often thrived meeting in homes practicing spiritual disciplines

This journey of building a pastoral library from scratch has convinced me of two matters. First, many American churches have been well pastored by well read shepherds who are worthy of honor. Second, we need to pray for more well-read shepherds to arise davejenkins394305.substack.com/p/help-wante...
