Three colleagues, independent of each other, expressed worry today about living in an authoritarian country. Two colleagues worried about traveling abroad because they have spouses who are naturalized citizens. One worried for a graduate being a target for doing eco conscious research.

Sigh there is all this talk about how dt and ICE are deporting people. I want to know the names of these ICE agents. Ultimately, they too should be charged when all is said and done. "Following orders" has never been a good defense.

So here is a question. Is it possible to monitor dt's stock trades? I actually wonder if he is making tariffs are on and off announcements as a way to time the market and make a buck. I do not put that past him.
