The best part is that if we look at the actual mathematics behind transformers then it should be obvious that even these kinds of system prompts are suggestions at best and you're mostly just "hoping really hard" the models attention heads decide that some of it might be relevant.

So at this point it should be obvious to everyone the USSR has taken over the US.

I think what the "voters" of these populist nationalist parties fairly to grasp is that when the party leaders are talking about "taking power of welfare from our country" they are conveniently hiding the fact that they are talking about elite when for working people integration tends to be net win.

Yup. Very little of what Trump actually does suggests that he's anywhere near as stupid as americans seem to think. He's a bit short-sighted, but otherwise pretty much all of it is well explained by greed, the sense of being untouchable and just total lack of empathy.

The picture in the post is (probably) the real key to the timeline: the "contracted revenue backlog" (aka. frontier lab debt) eventually comes due and this is when things get "interesting."

It's actually not that absurd when you think about it: Iran is playing the game of "we don't want to be your enemy, we just want you to stop supporting our enemy" and they are doing it pretty well.

More news of this type please. They are entering the territory where even Wall Street should understand the tech-bros are on drugs. They might still choose to gamble anyway, but at least they will know it's a casino rather than a real world investment.

In the US, the division between "us" and "them" seems to cloud the vision of the left as much as it does the right, but in the real world it's sometimes useful to agree on certain topics even if you disagree on others. That's called compromise and good compromises can benefit everyone in the end.

By weaponizing MAGA talking points against Trump, she's not necessarily trying to make peace with the Democrats. Rather she's trying to turn the MAGA support base against the Epstein class and that's a good thing, whether or not she might still be a racist gold digger at heart.

People around here seem to think "MTG isn't doing enough" but if she were to admit she was in for the scam, she'd lose any personal MAGA following she might still have. By choosing "I was fooled" instead, she can perhaps realign those people, whether she does it for "right" or "wrong" reasons.

I don't really bother replacing stock tuners if they feel like they are doing what they are supposed to, but if they are excessively sensitive (ie. low ratio) and especially if there's some play, it's probably worth, 'cos it just saves so much frustration in the long run.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Before the swap, tuning the thing was more or less lottery and would need regular adjustment, afterwards none of that is a problem anymore and the thing is about as stable as you can get without a locking nut. Definitely worth the trouble on any instrument with poor tuners that you otherwise like.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
I have some €29 Wilkinson set on a cheap electric where the originals had poor ratio and a bit of slack. The footprints in tuners are often very similar, so in my case the new ones fit the old screw holes directly and the whole swap took maybe 10 minutes longer than a regular string change.

The problem is that they likely won't be able to extract enough revenue from this, so eventually they will have to do something similar in industries that actually matter and that'll eventually turn the "banking walk" into a proper run. The end is near, though what comes after is anyone's guess.

Just like the "temporary control" over critical industries, this is yet another sign that Russia is effectively done with market economy and private property. They clearly picked on industry that they're hoping won't cause the rest of the private economy to panic, but they probably should.

This is literally why Trump (or the actually intelligent people telling him what to do) is pushing for the release: so an actual emergency can be later created without the reserves in place. Unfortunately the politicians in charge are not the brightest people.

Solving the slop is not just a matter of throwing more compute at it, because it's part of the mathematics of transformer models and with the right context you can even get an LLM to explain what is going on. Trying to get them to suggest a fix though will run straight into hallucination territory.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Combine the slop accumulation with existing talent retiring while no new talent is trained, there's not that many possible outcomes: either there has to be a further breakthrough in AI to solve the slop or tech talent will soon be more valuable than ever. Just kinda sucks in the meantime.

Attacking civilians is not a very good tactic. All that would do for Ukraine is lose international sympathy and probably make the Russian's support for the war stronger. What Ukraine is doing right now is far more effective: avoid civilian losses, but trash the economy.

Another thing nobody points out: if you can run a business with a few people and a bunch of agents, so can everyone else and if your "competitive advantage" comes from buy stock AI from a "frontier lab" then everyone can do that and you have no competitive advantage.

Just alt-picking in particular just seems like an impossible thing to do when you first approach the instrument: how on earth am I going to lift the pick from one string to another. 😛
000
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I agree. Forcibly pushing faster is sometimes good for figuring out what works and what doesn't but it's only when you can do it relaxed without thinking about it that you've truly mastered it. (this is not my first instrument; in past life I've been faster on another)

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Am I very clean at these speeds? Well, not really, but the fact that it feels more like "I just need to practice this a bit more" rather than "how on earth can someone do this stuff at all" is what amazes me the most.

To be honest, just the idea that I could play anything at all at 120bpm seemed like a joke, yet once you start to get the hang of things, it starts to feel the opposite and you think "I should be able to do this much faster than I currently can." Funny how that works.

I'd say I'm probably most impressed by the fact that I've been able to get my "alt-pick anything" skills to the point where they are now. Just the idea that I'd be alt-picking 6-string arps at 120bpm without breaking a sweat would have seemed like a joke when I started.

The fun thing is that it might not even matter if the demand materializes, because it's unlikely to materialize fast enough to save these companies (not just OpenAI).

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Anyway, if you can handle soldering wires together and to switch and ground, then you'll probably be able to get it done. I'd double check the size though, as there's two common sizes for bridge (standard and "trembucker") and also make sure the route in the guitar is deep enough.
010
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
If you are only using it as a HB then standard wiring will always work I guess and you can swap hot and ground if it's not in phase, but 4-wires give you the flexibility to tap either coil with either phase, so you can do humbucking combinations with one coil and a separate single coil pickup, etc.
110
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Also they have additional guides on their website for all kinds of pickup setups, so there's a good chance that whatever you need to do there's a "put this wire here" type of guide available.
110
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Yeah, most (incl. Duncans) have separate wires for each coil and then the bare grounds the assembly plate. This way you can swap the phase by switching which side of the coils you connect together, but at least Duncans come with guide that suggests the most common config.
110
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Pretty much the only tricky part is figuring out which way you want to connect the thing and the thing to watch out for (when looking at guides) is that every manufacturer has their own color scheme, so if it's a Duncan pickup, make sure you're following Duncan color schemes.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
HBs usually have 4 wires (two per coil) + bare ground, so you solder two wires together to chain the coils (these two are your coil tap too if you want one), then one of the remaining goes to ground with the bare and the other one goes to pickup selector as hot.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Also remember that especially if you're strumming chords, it often doesn't matter too much if your barre is perfect. As long as you've got root, 3rd and either 5th or 7ths in there and open strings are muted, it'll be the right chord, so you can just play and eventually your barres will improve.
000
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
A few tips: thumb behind neck (classical position) makes barre a lot easier, use the (more solid) side of your index rather than the soft tissue and focus pressure on just those strings that you aren't fretting otherwise (trying to keep it even across all 6 strings is genuinely hard).
100
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Think about it this way: you don't need to play all the strings at the same time (even for chords often 3, perhaps 4 notes is usually quite enough), but having more strings means you have access to a larger range without having to move your hand around as much.

I tend to use my pick to quickly check if the action is more or less where I want it. I like roughtly 2mm on 12th and play with a 2mm pick, so it works out pretty well.

If you feel like you might want to try learning to play, give it a serious try, aim for consistency of practice, but don't stress about how much time you put into it and you might find that it's quite different as an adult with intrinsic motivation instead of external pressure.

🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
While I also have a tiny bit of trauma about daily practice, I've been able to maintain "minimum 5 minutes a day" just fine, which is enough to avoid serious ADHD focus drift for me and even though it's all very informal, I don't think age has been holding me hostage at all.

I played classical violin in youth, I picked up 6-string electric "slightly over 40 yo" (after decades of not playing anything). For me, the practice techniques I learned as kid help a lot, but since I have no formal goals or external pressure, I've been able to avoid pretty much all the stress.

The important part is where they say they plan on paying over half a trillion(!) next year on what is likely mostly "take or pay" contracts on compute. To me that alone makes the IPO read more or less "please buy our bankruptcy."

In other words: the practical effect of such law around where I live is that it protects the bartenders from excessively drunk customers by giving them a clear legal basis to deny service if they think the customer is past the point where they can act "civilized."
060
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Well, it's technically the same in at least some countries in Europe too, but generally "intoxicated" in this context tends to mean that you're getting so drunk that's you're causing or likely to cause more disorder than the bartender is willing to tolerate.
170
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
Yes, but there are further benefits too. Practicing different things can help build more unified technique and sort of holistic understanding of the instrument and if one thing proves difficult (no progress), you might still see faster progress in other things, which greatly helps avoid frustration.
000
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
I want to clarify this a bit further, that I'm not necessarily advocating a very rigidly structured practice, rather just trying to point out that alternating between different things typically gives faster results than trying to focus on one thing for extended periods of time.
110
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
At the same time, EU/NATO can't safely assume that this is pure posturing, because Russia might also be hedging their bets and prepared to open a limited offence if simple posturing doesn't result in the desired outcome.
010
🧞‍♀️ 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 @myzsd.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
It's also possible Russia is attempting to present a threat to eastern EU simply in order to shift EU/NATO focus from aiding Ukraine to preparing their own defence. The risk with such a strategy is a pre-emptive strike by NATO, but Russia is likely correct to estimate this risk is zero in practice.
