Yesterday, I finally finished Dark Souls. Something that I had set down and picked up, and set down against due to getting frustrated and giving up because of the boss wall that is Ornstein & Smough. Making it to the end, after almost 2 years, is such a surreal feeling.

I still think about the item called sticky white goo. I question what the item actually is. Also, there is no hope in the Prison of Hope. But we're back in Demon Souls! twitch.tv/mythryxexe

We try to reach Abyss Monkey Grandpa tomorrow! My confidence in making it through Dark Souls has became so much higher since beating Ornstein & Smough. I'm seeing this run to the end.

Man, what the fuck. Fiance and I don’t like a lot of country because it’s twangy, talking about drama, and shit. Dolly Parton was the one singer we actually agreed we could enjoy because she just sang about real stuff. Another legend to the stars. You were loved and always will be loved Dolly. 💛

Imma keep it a buck cuz I keep seeing this recently. If you're a relatively smaller creator and you wanna quit or crash out every time you see negative growth, I think you need to take a step back and ask yourself why you want to do this. You have so little actual control and to (thread)

Finally finished editing my big video of the fight with Ornstein & Smough, and have it scheduled to post on YouTube. 2 years, 4 past lives, 34 deaths later... They finally went down. Something to many that celebrating would make no sense. To my friends, and myself, a very significant achievement

Anyone else getting the feeling that Artorias's scream when he defeat him feels really raw, and it's similar to a scream of someone who has left nothing but pent up emotions to fester, finally releasing all that agony? That scream was definitely intentional.

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

I cut the full finale fight with O&S so I can set that up in the YT video. Now the nuance of just editing the deaths that came before and doing the commentary with some special affects. This was the fight that literally changed everything in Dark Souls for me.

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

From Ornstein & Smough in 2 years, 4 past lives, and 2 days(on/off). To Artorias in a few hours. This is my time to finish something I started years ago, but never finished. Also shout to @attythemythologist.bsky.social with his encouragement giving me strength through this entire fight.

Editing VODS from the days I fought Ornstein & Smough. First death tally is 23. Currently working on the VOD of the day I beat them. I'm thinking we're over 30 deaths. But I don't care. They finally went down.

Every other Dark Souls Remastered break up to this point had been due to getting upset at losing and making no forward progress with Ornstein & Smough. This break is different. This is a break of peace. A break of accomplishment. After years of losing, the parts of me that didn't rest, finally can

It still feels surreal to finally have defeated Ornstein & Smough.

000

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Today and tomorrow are respite days. Days for me to rest from the fight with Ornstein & Smough. Now to edit the vods to compile together the scenes leading to the moment of my biggest accomplishment.

000

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Full video will be going to YouTube of this moment. Beating Ornstein & Smough after giving up to them for so many times is SO CATHARTIC and feels surreal. My determination pulled through. I told myself I was breaking the cycle. I fucking did it.

000

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

4 PAST LIVES LATER. 2 YEARS OF FRUSTRATION, RAGE, ANXIETY, AND GIVING UP. THE CYCLE HAS BEEN BROKEN. THE CYCLE HAS FINALY BEEN BROKEN. ORNSTEIN & SMOUGH BOTH FELL TODAY. Making it past this boss fight is SIGNIFICANT for me as they have been the wall keeping me from EVER finishing Dark Souls.

Round 2 of Ornstein & Smough bullying continues today. I'm not moving on from Anor Londo until they both fall.

000

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

We didn't beat O&S because my body decided to rage war on me. But we were consistently getting Smough down and making it to P2 Ornstein. Tomorrow.

Seeing Sen's Fortress on the horizon gives me unimaginable anxiety since it literally plays on EVERY single fear I have. Tight corridors? ✔️ Heights? ✔️ Fear of falling? ✔️ Everything that Myth hates? ✔️✔️✔️✔️ But I need to break my O&S cycle. So I'm seeing this through.

The fated time of me returning to my Souls past is coming soon. Most of my journeys ended at Ornstein & Smough. I'm determined not to let this one end there.

Mythryx @mythryxexe.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Who ever said I'll be playing more Dark Souls on Monday would be absolutely right. I've made the most progress in this run, than I ever have and I'm looking forward to completing this journey. I finished Elden Ring. I'm going to finish Dark Souls.

Someone on YT said that pyro is kind of difficult, and honestly I've had the best luck in Dark Souls with pyro more than anything else I've tried to run. They also weren't a disrespectful jerk. This person was respectful. I just find it a bit ironic how they say that pyro is a difficult.

I'm enjoying Dark Souls more now than before since I'm not following my old routing of just heading right to O&S and also just staying in my lane and not caring about how people view how I play the game. I wanna be a scrungly little broadsword pyromancer who wins by calling bosses bastards.
