CN Rail crew members fled a blaze engulfed train on foot during a wildfire, running roughly 1.6 kilometres through flames. The union says they never should have been dispatched into the danger and they were hospitalized for smoke inhalation as a result. CN has commended their courage, confirmed no discipline has been taken, while the investigation into the train's status and the incident remain ongoing. Madison Marier reports.

All open burning is prohibited in Northwestern Ontario and part of Northeastern Ontario as of 12:01 AM on Wednesday.
