So I definitely meant to update folks on Bluesky about the campaign, and about MystoPress in general but tbh it has been a very tough year and things have slowed down so much more than expected. But the good news is, Paroxysm 5 has been funded and we are on track for fulfillment at the eom! (1/5)

MystoPress has one final sale where everything is 20% off now until Dec 15! Due to several recent issues with Etsy I will be closing up shop in December. I hope to reopen in 2026 on my official website but could use any support in the meantime to keep us afloat. Thanks! www.etsy.com/shop/mystopress

In addition to tabling this month for @queerzestzinefest.bsky.social I will be doing a virtual panel on healing within the horror genre, with a focus on community catharsis and queer horror. I hope you can join us and participate in the other workshops and events they have going on all month long!

Really excited to come back to Wilmington in just a few weeks for Stone Soup, so if you’re in the area and want to grab zines/trade, I’ll be there and at 2 more events. Unsure what things will look like event wise for me in the future, but I know I’m not the only one who had to scale back this year.

It's been a while since I've shared a longer form comic from years past on here. "Muse" has to be one of my favorites, featured in Paroxysm Vol 2 back in...2020. Damn. It's kind of a love/hate letter to art school, inspired partly by a horrible rash I had on my hands during that time. (1/3)

I blue pencil a LOT of thumbnails for stories I want to work on when I only have the time to quickly and loosely jot down ideas. These all sit in gigantic folders in my office. I recently pulled pages out from circa 2019 when I made a metric ton of these, and decided to pencil them in. (A thread)

Recently I found a box full of misprint copies of Paroxysm Vol 2 that are slightly smaller with darker pages than the regular books. No less chilling though, just some pages have details missing due to the darker print! I am listing them on my shop at a discount here www.etsy.com/listing/4302...

Side by side comparison of different editions of Paroxysm Vol 2, on the left the book is slightly smaller than the standard edition.

I don’t know how to tell you all this, but using reference photos to draw things you’ve spent decades of your life trying to master from memory gets comics drawn much faster. Forget trying to prove I can draw a car, bitch-ass Honda is getting a traced under layer and we’re MOVING ON goddamnit.

JUST A REGULAR FIRST DATE is a comic I started almost exactly 1 year ago and only managed to finish it now. So glad i revisited it much later, the final result is all the better for it. It's a pretty silly idea, but do let me know if this is how online dating usually goes. I wouldn't know. (1/2)

Panel 3 of JUST A REGULAR FIRST DATE, a black and white illustrated comic. Another closeup of the MC's phone shows their messaging back and forth. It reads "I'd love to!/I see you live nearby, got a fav place 4 drinks?/Absolutely :) / But first I gotta ask/Could I have a preview of that 'wild side' you got/ hehe/hold on". Another selfie of Dillon is obscured on the bottom. Panel 4 shows MC's reaction to what he sees, his vape smoke turns into hearts as he says "hell yesss"

Panel 5 of JUST A REGULAR FIRST DATE, a black and white illustrated comic. MC stands outside of a bar nervously checking his phone. Panel 6 shows Dillon arriving to get drinks.

Panel 7-8 of JUST A REGULAR FIRST DATE, a black and white illustrated comic. The MC and Dillon are chatting and drinking in a booth together.

Finally getting my energy back to work on new comics, so here’s a peek at what I’ve been working on for the upcoming PAROXYSM 5 book: A short piece about a haunted lake that has me drawing forests and bodies of water again…it's ok if I make forests/water my backgrounds for every comic right?

In a continuing effort to post more full comics so they’re available/accessible in case I run out of the ability to stock them, here is I Thought I Saw A Deer Last Night. One of my favorites, this wordless comic was made right in the peak of quarantine. (1/3)

Page 1 and 2 of I Thought I Saw A Deer Last Night, a digitally illustrated comic about a man who nearly runs over a deer in the middle of the night and follows it deep into the woods. Depicts a dark forest at night lit only by the mc’s headlights as he drifts off to sleep at the wheel. Suddenly a dark figure resembling a half-deer half-human appears on the road ready to collide with the car as it fast approaches.

Page 3 and 4 of I Thought I Saw A Deer Last Night, a digitally illustrated comic about a man who nearly runs over a deer in the middle of the night and follows it deep into the woods. Depicts mc slamming the breaks as he panics. After a pause he steps out of the car only to see bloody footprints leading down a trail into a woods obscured by the dark.

Page 5 and 6 of I Thought I Saw A Deer Last Night, a digitally illustrated comic about a man who nearly runs over a deer in the middle of the night and follows it deep into the woods. Depicts mc running after a deer-human creature into the dark forest, and after losing himself in the environment stumbles across the creature collapsed onto the grass with a head wound.

Page 7 and 8 of I Thought I Saw A Deer Last Night, a digitally illustrated comic about a man who nearly runs over a deer in the middle of the night and follows it deep into the woods. Depicts mc check on the deer-human’s wounds when a bright red light starts to glow from the top of a hill. Mc follows the light and stumbles upon a strange seance happening with more of the deer-humans surrounding a tall dark silhouette of a beastly creature with hands for antlers. Stepping back from the scene, the wounded creature lurks in the shadows behind the mc.

UNDER is a comic I made mid pandemic that's all about catharsis and how feeling like you're alone in your pain is heavy and real. I've never actually done a physical print of it, maybe this is the year I do. (figured out how to add alt text to posts so that's now available!) (1/3)

Slowly sharing more of my comics in full! The Corpse of Mr. Hadley is an unhinged idea I made in the span of two weeks. I love seeing people react to it in person. The penultimate page flip determines who is on board and who puts it down and hurries away, it gives me so much joy every time. (1/2)
