Tonight's @maddow.msnbc.com show provided a much needed glimmer of light. I send encouragement to Americans as you fight the good fight, in whichever manner, big or small, that you will take back your country in the coming months!

I thought it might be worth introducing myself here as most people might not know me and what I do. My name is Niall and I am on a mission to save street dogs around the world. This is me with Tina. A very special dog. This is my story…. (1/8) 🧵

To all who celebrate, Happy Thanksgiving!

Picture of a young Bilbo Baggins in Bag End, seated at a table filled with scrumptious food, surrounded by dwarfs and Gandalf. Title at the bottom says “Happy Thanksgiving”.

Sitting in my boss’s car, running the engine for a short while in the office parking lot as he’s away for a stretch. Watching car after car drive past to exit at 5pm onwards. Sincerely wondering what these people’s lives are like to be able to leave work on the dot. Bit sad I can’t relate.

If you enjoy movies with stunning minimalist cinematography, consider giving Shadow (2018) by Zhang Yimou a go.

Ancient Chinese emperor standing with four other subjects in a great hall waiting for a banquet to begin

Scene with two Chinese warriors both armed with long sabres facing off against each other with misty mountains in the background

A lone man in long robes and a straw hat, sits on a rock in the middle of a misty bamboo forest, playing a long flute

An overhead shot of two Chinese woman sitting on the floor across each other with their long robes draped around them like a pools of water. There is a round shaped yin-yang device between them.

Feels quite different not to be busy blocking ads and horrid accounts every few minutes while scrolling. I’m rather dedicated about blocking. I will click through profiles. If it won’t click through, I will manually search for the handle to do it. Crazy how it eventually came to that.

Hello. Signed up to follow a few of my fav accounts from that other place. Not an American but I do follow US politics a bit. It’s been a difficult week indeed. I hope to do some frivolous posting to offset the incoming chaos. Sharing a piece by Pascal Campion that I’m very fond of.

Digital artwork by Pascal Campion where a small cozy glass hut is set atop a floating platform in the middle of the lake. The artwork is in grey tones and has a misty foggy vibe. This is contrasted by a splash of warm light from inside the glass hut where a lady sits under a lamp in a half-moon one-seater chair. The piece radiates calm and peace and a whole lot of sweet whimsy.
