It annoys me just how much "turn it off and turn it on again" is actually the way to solve 80% of computer/phone/tech issues. On one hand: Actually great because it's simple and easy. On the other: generations of IT dudes being smug because they were right all along.

Every time I see a news story freakout about "bobcat spotted" I think, "I wish I had seen it!" Same is true for all the big cats that live around us. Definitely no need to hunt them. 🤬

Ayako gets all the credit - I just water them. 😂 Are they? Interesting -they get sold as annuals. Clearly they do come back though! That first was new to me, which is part of why I bought it. Unique shape and color combo. It still is growing more leaves and is loaded with buds!

As does this New Guinea. They’ve gotten huge this year!

A side effect of this really warm October is I still have to water annual plants every day. Usually they are well into dying by now. This is this year’s fuchsia.

Dogs were making a ruckus down in the bamboo so I went to check it and found this little guy up in the branches, well out of Hokkaido reach, just trying to wait them out.

I keep seeing all these ads for houses for sale in Japan and some of them are quite tempting. I didn't realize the current exchange rate was so favorable to US dollars - $1 = 157 yen!

Every time I vacuum I’m like “It’s not great, but it’s better than it was.” Some day I’ll have the time and energy to do an actual good job - just not on a Wednesday afternoon after work.

I keep seeing all these sale ads for weed when driving through PDX for an eighth for $5-10. I never bought weed in college but had a roommate who did and I’m pretty sure it was $25-30. I guess something has gotten cheaper these days.
