AI models may be capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter
Small AI models may be only months away from being able to self-replicate across cheap IoT devices like Android TV boxes, with no datacenter needed.

Anthropic trying hard to cover the fact that the model has no common sense or indeed intelligence but is a stochastic parrot. Any normal intelligent person knows that you are not submitting example content to a live homicide police tip website.

DanMygind @mygind.bsky.social · 13/10/2026
Another example with Claude Haiku 4.5. Any intelligent person would not lie about witnessing something relevant to a homicide and report it to the police. But expect these stories being reported as evidence of how "super intelligent" the models are.

Anthropic describes how unreliable and non-intelligent AI-models can be. I mean, if a newly hired junior was asked to filll in an internal form, they wouldn't login to an external server to fill out the form there.

Important interview with @timnitgebru.blacksky.app who basically says don't believe the AI-hype. Instead make the AI companies liable for their technology, ask questions about data included in the LLMs, bias in the models, lack of basic IT security at the companies, etc. youtu.be/3EY2QDfp2O4?...

Journalists, if there is one thing you shouldn't do, then it is this. Instead, provide context for the user, highlight the CEO's vested interests and previous lies/unsuccessful "predictions", and provide facts that contradicts the CEO's claims. karlbode.com/ceo-said-a-t...

@bbcrosatkins.bsky.social I don't think there is a BBC-news account here on Bluesky. Can you inform your colleagues that attribution of responsibility shouldn't be to to a technology but to the company using the technology. You wouldn't write "Gun kills man" when you knew who held the gun.
