special shoutout to bimbim: top tier dps throughout the whole game but pivoting to provoke-tank for crucial, unexpectedly difficult moments (ie, all of the world of darkness). she really flipped off the final bosses and called them weak little bitches. fuck yeah bimbim

the onion monolith. its all very cute. i feel like they did a great job expanding on things in this remake while still retaining a lot of the "soul" (read: jankiness and Fuckery) of the original iii. i could see some people hating that the party is characters, but theyre still flexible enough imo

fourth try did it! things kept snowballing quickly out of control the other times because he was missing heals before particle beam, but giving him blood spear healed him so much better than i thought it would omg. i still have no fucking clue how turn order works though.

i actually love how they have this whole little arc for... arc, where he starts the game being bullied, but then here he wants to stop alus from being bullied. its very small but its a nice touch, especially when the four onions originally were just a monolith. a monionlith.... also: 🤔🌈

ill be honest this is my favorite section of iii and The Standout Moment: when you leave the floating continent and see just how vast and desolate the rest of the flooded world is. i feel like the pr/nes version did a great job of showing that scale, but maybe here it didnt hit me so hard because-
