Apple River Canyon State Park, Illinois (9/14) - Followed up on VCF Midwest with a day trip. A small park with a lot to see: Situated in the portion of the Driftless Area that extends into Northern Illinois, there's some verticality to the terrain that's pretty uncommon around here.

Getting my Proxmox host (Mostly TrueNAS appliance) in a more server-ly case. Despite my main desktop getting a bump to AM5, I'm hoping to extend the service life of Groverserver's current AM4 setup (AsRock Rack x470D4U, Ryzen 9 5900x) another two or three years since DDR5 prices suck.

Troubleshooting was a year long ordeal, but the Duodyne finally boots! Turns out I was being held up by a batch of bogus Dallas DS1210 on the RAM board all along. This one's coming soon to VCF Midwest, with some extra additions. #retrocomputing #kitcomputing

Four of eight. I think I'm the only person notorious Neo-Geo fighting game Legend of Success Joe ever actually got into the series

PVM adjustments: Dialling in the convergence and using a degausser wand. (This PVM has a notoriously weak internal degausser)

Craig Mullins' art goes way too hard. I think Photoshop for Mac OS didn't support tablets at this point, so I'm pretty sure he was doing all this with a mouse?!

Rough corners, ill advised design decisions, weirdly compelling in spite of them. Soundtrack that goes insanely hard

Recovering from surgery is insanely boring as always. Least I've got Hothead Paisan and a couple volumes of Ashita no Joe.

A copy of Diane DiMassa's "Hothead Paisan: Homicidal Lesbian Terrorist" sits on the arm of an armchair.
