Also Rocksteady and Fiasco say heating pads mitigate all bad weather.
Two cats, a grey tabby and an orange tabby, sleeping cutely and contentedly on a grey heating pad on a bed.

Requested for purchase. Following your work the last couple years has been such a privilege.

Kids are such great comrades when you forget what you’re even fighting for anymore.
Three absolutely charming photos of my 9 year old kid in a colorful outfit standing in a parking lot on a sunny snowy winter day playing with his elongated shadow by positioning his body in various whimsical poses.

After seven happy and comfortable bonus months on palliative care after kidney disease and GI cancer dxs, it was excruciating to say goodbye to our baby this week, exactly 11 years to the day after we brought her home. Edward was a cat who loved her humans more than anything. We miss her terribly.
A small, extremely cute adult calico cat sitting on a bed.

Baking began tonight. The trajectory: our usual five plus one new variety. The line up represents years of family curation. It’s ritual now. First, the dough for the Pfeffernüsse, a frosted german biscuit with the whole spice cabinet tucked into an unassuming pale brown lump. Last year’s pictured.
Rounded, iced cookies on a wire cooling rack.

Queued; open to thoughts from other readers.
A stack of three books on a white bedspread. Top to bottom: Autism: Sensory-Movement Differences and Diversity by Leary and Donnellan (red cover and spine), Avoiding Anxiety in Autistic Children by Beardon (lavender spine), Exposure Anxiety—The Invisible Cage by Williams (pink spine).

Wake up, babe. New buffet just dropped.
Picture of a link with photo to a truthout.org article. Headline is “ Elon Musk Spent Over a Quarter of a Billion Dollars to Help Elect Trump”. Sub headline says “A total of 14 billionaires will be in the Trump White House, a number that could go up based on future appointments”. “14 billionaires will be in the…White House” is highlighted in yellow. There’s a candid photo of Trump and Musk from the waist up and they both look like shit. Musk is talking and pointing at something with his hand and Trump is extra un-even orange in the face with a sour puckered mouth.

Recently passed 3 years on testosterone, and—though I for sure vibe with the beard and hard fade—I realize more and more that I never measure myself against “man” and I never think about “passing”. I do feel more and more liberated the less I’m read as binary.
Portrait photo of a white, nonbinary person in their 40s. They have short red hair and a red beard and mustache. They’re looking at the camera with grey blue eyes and wearing a grey v neck t-shirt.

I’m a school board director and I often read this book to students when I visit classrooms.
Book cover for “We Move Together” by Kelly Fritsch, Anne McGuire, and Eduardo Trejos. Illustration includes the lower half of the bodies of four people of various ages and a service dog. One person is in a wheelchair, one person is using a cane. Three of the people have brown skin and one has white skin. Background is orange and title is in white swirly letters.

I am so in love with my kid.
Three photos in a row. The first is Foxy, a kid, wearing orange pajamas and leaning over a blue couch to grab Cheerios off the floor. He’s dumped the whole box and they’re everywhere. The second is Foxy’s feet next to a Cheerio grid he’s begun to construct on the floor. The last is the completed grid, an impressive four by twenty-five rectangle—100 Cheerios.
