An old commission from @/hjoe :3 The Longan Observers (know in game as "Dragon orbs"). I don't really like this name so I choose "Longan Observers" and name all of them :3

Je me retrouve souvent plus à discuter en DM avec les gens plus qu'à rester sur le réseau pour ce qu'il propose ! XD Donc comme ici je n'ai pas de DM, je fais d'autres choses (dessins, coutures, peluche xD)

If you catch these two napping, it's best not to wake them. Even Longan Dragon Cookie doesn't hesitate to join them for a rest :3

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan Earl Grey Cream Wyvern appreciates the other Observers, but not as much as Dul. And the other three don't mind, understanding this special connection with the second Observer.

010

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

It's not unusual to see them together, whatever their form. They care about each other, and even though they're sometimes far apart, there's nothing more sacred than the time they can spend together. Naps are one of their favorite activities! :3

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan clan : Longan Second Observer Cookie (aka Dul) and Longan Earl Grey Cream Wyvern I imagined an unlikely friendship between Longan Second Observer Cookie (Dul) and Longan Earl Grey Cream Wyvern. A friendship born of a magical contact between the two, causing this special bond between them.

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

This fragment of "Longan's stone" would enable them to call on the Observers to deploy more power when in their Cookie form.

020

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

For Shaman, it's the opposite: as they have a stone very similar to Longan's, I can see them using magic with this medium and thus limiting the damage to their bodie (unlike Lancer, who isn't so lucky).

000

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

I love imagining Lancer unable to use magic because the limit is their Cookie bodies, which restrain (or handicap) them. They can make lightning bolts in Wyvern form, but not in Cookie form, hence the use of their weapon!

001

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

I don't see the two as adelphs or the same "sibling" but as one half of a whole. They operate with a "hive mind", where they can communicate without the need for speech or words.

000

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Shaman is more of a hybrid, something between Eve and Greek mythology: they were born from a fragment of Lancer, fueled by Longan's magic to try and save Lancer from having their hearts ripped out by snakes (hello Snake Fruit).

010

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Lancer was strongly inspired by Pygmalion, the man who fell in love with his own sculpture. A creation made by Longan's hands and for which they are deeply attached. An artificial but unique creation, which responds to no logic and can imitate the living better than anything else.

010

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan clan : Longan Lancer Cookie/Longan Earl Grey Cream Wyvern and Longan Shaman Cookie/Longan Chocolat Cream Wyvern As already mentioned, before I knew of their Wyvern origins, I saw these two more as homunculi or, failing that, artificial hybrid creations.

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

In my universe, I tend to imagine Longan infusing their magic into them via artifacts they have deposited in the Wyverns' bodies to enable them to come alive.

000

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

So I understand that the Wyverns don't have the power to change form on their own, that they only have this possibility because they have Longan's assistance.

000

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

The reason being that it was their powers that allowed the two Wyverns to exist, and those same powers gave them a form of Cookies but also their own powers. A powerful entity in decline or self-preservation wouldn't waste their strength or reserves on trivia. But Longan could.

000

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan clan: Longan Dragon Cookie The most powerful of all dragons. I tend to have a parallel between Longan and Emet-Selch from FF14: two ancient entities, trying to bring back a lost and bygone era, at the sacrifice of many lives. I consider Longan to be really powerful in terms of pure "power".

Longan Clan: Net The youngest and happiest of the 4. Net enjoys everything as much as possible. Curious, she loves to uncover mysteries and cause disasters with Set. They don't like to work much and tend to leave their chores to Hana. He likes the two wyverns! Pronoun: all

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan Clan: Set The most playful of the 4, there's nothing Set enjoys more than playing and getting into trouble. They're partners in crime with Net to make disasters. Longan Dragon Cookie doesn't hate him... they don't even manage to scold him! Pronoun: he/him, they/them

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan Clan: Hana Hana is the oldest of the 4. Confident and reliable, he's the one the others can count on when there's a lot of work to do. They're serious. They care about everything that belongs to the clan, even the other observers, without personality. Pronoun: they them

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan Clan: Longan Observers Cookies Thanks to Longan Dragon's magic, the orbs can take on the form of Cookies (in the same way as Wyverns). They are called "Longan Observers Cookies". They're "little Cookies" in front of the Wyverns, but not children. Pronoun: they/them

Mx de la Baie | Mx the Berry | Mx la Baya @mx-delabaie.bsky.social · 04/12/2023

Longan clan : Longan Observers I call the spheres accompanying Longan Dragon Cookie "Observers". I consider these spheres to be mechanical, powered by Longan's magic. Longan Dragon Cookie are connected to these orbs, allowing them to see through them. Pronoum: it/its
