I have always considered reflection to be an important piece of learning, but often placed it at the end of large learning experiences. These are not skills that should be held off until the end. These are ongoing in the process of inquiry. Thank you, Jessica Vance!

I had a wonderful few days with Detroit Country Day alumni from the graduating class of 1974. Harry Davis, joined us in the xR Studio to share his personal experience of the Detroit riots of 1967 to a student documentary. As a documentary film maker himself, I learned a lot from him. #DCDSTheStudios

Part 2 of Running of the Bulls lesson invited our MS mathematicians to #DCDSTheStudios. We virtually visited Spain to join the bulls on their path to the arena while calculatingng d=r•t To collect data on themselves, we went to our indoor field house. Lots of excitement, joy, and math!

How far of a head start would I need to outrun a dog that was chasing me? This question lead Ms. Nash’s math class in an investigation in estimation, dependent and independent variables, and graphing coordinates. Ms. Nash prioritizes collaboration and values each learner’s thinking.

What an eventful beginning of the week! The xR Studios 2.9mm volume came down to make room for our INFiLED 1.9mm pixel pitch volume. Our new wall resolution is 4096x1280! Can’t wait for students to come back from break to continue storytelling and creating content in #DCDSTheStudios

The xR Studio has been a learning experience for me. My latest teacher is Niannian, a freshman and Unreal Engine expert. He generated a 360° environment of a foggy forest in Unreal and together we enabled Renderstream in Disguise to get it up on the LED volume.

I tried a few advanced techniques on a tray I gifted my father-in-law. The body is cherry. I made inlay from zebra wood, maple, & thin strips of paduk - glued into a routed channel. I added splines using black walnut & the same inlay. Sanded to 220 and finished with my favorite, OSMO PolyX-Oil.
