Daggett, already wounded, knows he's about to die, and says to Munny, "I don't deserve this...to die like this. I was building a house." Written by David Peoples and directed by Clint Eastwood, it's still Hackman's performance that brings this line so vividly to life--

Sad to hear about the passing of Gene Hackman, one of the great actors of our time. Among many signature moments in his career, the one I'll never forget is in "The Unforgiven," when Clint Eastwood's William Munny has a shotgun aimed at Hackman's "Little Bill" Daggett. (Continued in comments)
