lately I have been thinking about 'internal' shields, using a mechanism like a locking plug, and I got this great piece from @hushloafs.bsky.social to try it out for size, but idk if that is an ideal solution for me—it struggles to read like a locked penis without a cutaway shot

ended up with a graveyard midrange/reactive deck that had a lab man/haunting misery kill went 1-2 (1-2 2-1 0-2) I think I do fairly well against reactive decks esp with several ways to steal their best cardd, but don't have enough interaction to control the decks that are trying to t1/2 combo

Tomik spent his childhood exploding his parents' experiments for fun. He ascended the ranks of the Izzet in a snap. Some say this is thanks to the machinations of his husband, Ral, a noted Orzhov advokist and propagandist—but both men strenuously deny the allegation.

Tomik hasn't seen his husband since Ral departed Ravnica on important business. Unfortunately, Ral is one of the only people who can mellow Tomik's considerable temper. The Izzet hope he returns before Tomik, in frustration, levels the guildhall.

from the 2025-06-30 b&r I'm p sure today's was not meant to be an 'early rotation'. I skimmed through the past few b&rs and didn't see any indication that it was going to be, and Jadine notes that they would clearly indicate which would be—though we've also passed that 9 month point, so /shrug

One last announcement for Standard today: considering our next Standard rotation won't be until early 2027, we will be having two of our "early rotation" Standard banning windows before the next Standard rotation. You can expect one of these windows in about eighteen months, right before rotation as usual. The other one will be in roughly nine months around the midway point, but we haven't decided on an exact date yet and it could move around by a month or two. We will clearly indicate which announcements will specifically take a deeper look at Standard.
