Update, borrowed my wife's newer LG laptop and it ran the update no problem. Had to try 3 different PCs. This is gonna frustrate a lot of buyers. Seeing it in a recent Amazon review too:

an amazon review that states the following: NOT SWITCH 2 READY. I bought this item specifically to use with my Nintendo Switch 2 I tried multiple HDMI cables and I made sure to use the USB C cable that came in the box ( as well as some others I had for backup) but had no success. This may work for other devices but does not work on the Switch 2 even though there is signage on the box and with the packaging that says so. It will charge my device but does not broadcast the HDMI signal.

Update: After I posted my 1 star review, I read through a few other reviews. I found that there is an update to the firmware that can be done. It ended up taking me 3 tries. My first try on my PC did not recognize the device, and couldn't do the update. I then tried on my Macbook pro but the update is not compatible with a Mac. As a last resort, I used my work laptop, and I was able to successfully complete the update. After the update the Switch 2 DID end up working. Long story short, I was able to use it for the Switch 2 but I had to jump through a LOT of hoops to get there, and the whole thing could be avoided if they sent the device with the firmware installed properly out of the box.

Target is making amends for their super delayed Switch 2 shipments. Sure I'll take a free $50 eShop card:

An email from Target telling the original poster that they can get a free $50 eshop card because their Switch 2 shipments were so delayed

Nintendo's servers aren't having it. Sad thing is I was one click away from registering and it started throwing errors.

Unknown Error

Sorry, but there was an unknown error. Please try again.

Companies are so hungry to harvest information with account linking etc, that my son can't even download the latest rosters for FC25 cause he doesn't have an EA account. Having this exact same issue:
