Primetime (2026) Beautifully distressing movie. Pattinson is such a good actor and his performance as Chris Hansen is perfect. It could have been meaner but as is it already works.

Resident Evil (2026) Cregger has yet to miss! While this dint hit as hard for me as his other movies this one is still fantastic and I was right to believe he'd deliver with this. This really does feel like watching an RE playthrough and I love that.

Roadqueen: Eternal Roadtrip to Love (2018) Really cute, sweet and at times really funny little yuri comic. Brisk read that managed to tug at my heartstrings. Loved it.

Spider-Man (2002) Yep, it's still great after all this time. People reference this shit all the time for a reason it's just that great. It's kind of interesting the way this movie is blending the aesthetics of 00s edge with retro camp.

Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026) Fucking amazing! 🙌🙌🙌 A lurid love letter to the messy relationship queer people have with horror movies. The perspective this gives just makes me love the horror genre as a whole even more and I love horror movies.

Coyote vs ACME (2026) Great movie! I love how much fun they had with the concept! The ending worked but it sorta felt to me like a little more was gonna happen but it just kinda wrapped.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 1 (2023) This as a whole was very sweet, I'm always a sucker for sentimentality and this was that I'm spades, at it's best moments it made me feel aching for the relationships I don't have anymore and cherishing the people I do still have

Majuu Sensen (1975) Really dope as an action manga, but it ends on a cliffhanger and the sequel isn't available in English so fuck me I guess.

Petrodragonic Apocalypse - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (2023) On first listen I didn't like this as much as Infest the Rats' Nest, I like it a lot more now but I still think Infest is better. I really like how weird they're getting with the time signatures on this

Killing The Dragon - Dio (2002) Solid Dio album. It's wild to me that Dio was still releasing shit like this in '02. This album came out like a year after Toxicity and sounds exactly like something he would've made in the 80's

Murder of The Universe - King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard (2017) I didn't expect this to be a kinda sorta sequel album to Nonagon Infinity but it is?? I like the poetic narrative it's doing here but also like a good 50% of the album just has Stu saying "Altered Beast" over it

- I like his classic rouges gallery being all childhood friends of his to be a cool idea, I need to see how it plays out later

A pair of panels including a childhood photo of the Absolute versions of Harvey Dent, Oswald Cobblepot, Edward Nigma, Selina Kyle, Waylon Jones, and Bruce Wayne all happy together

- I find the way they're constantly cheating/working around the no kill rule to be funny as hell, a lot of just "yeah sure I guess that doesn't kill that guy"

Absolute Batman hacking a guy's fucking hand off

The page where Batman shoots Alfred in the fucking face with a shotgun I'm not transliterating this whole thing read it for yourself

The following page where it's revealed that the shot to the face didn't kill Alfred because it's full of batarangs, because loading a firearm full of sharp shrapnel makes it nonlethal?

Absolute Batman Vol.1 The Zoo (2024) This was good as fuck. I really like idea of this Bruce Wayne being Huge Gerard Way who's an engineer. I really like how they manage him being as equipped as he is even thought it feels like they're stretching it some times.

Absolute Bruce Wayne hitting a punching bag, looking like Huge Gerard Way

-and to further drive home the transitions Robyn makes between these worlds and ways of being by changing how she's rendered within scenes is just 🤌

Robyn in an early scene portrayed with clean pen like linework

Robyn in a later scene, effected by the wolfwalkers' magic, with her hair rendered in that soft pencil art style they are portrayed within

Robyn in another scene effected by the magic once more being render more fully with the soft pencil style

Mutraex - Play Beasts of Mystery @mutraex.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

I love how this movie uses the way characters are rendered to tell the story, depicting the town with these clean lines and blocky shapes, and the wolfwalkers and the woods with that sketchy pencilwork style of pre renaissance Disney to both contrast them

Robyn and her father Will both at home, both portrayed in very clean simple line work

The Lord Protector of the town similarly portrayed through clean lines and flat shapes

Mebh, a young wolfwalker portrayed with a messy yet soft looking sketchy pencil style

The wolves similarly depicted with the same messy pencil linework

Wolfwalkers (2020) Absolutely beautiful movie, I genuinely teared up at one point. It felt good to see my nieces genuinely as focused on this as I was. Genuinely, if you want to see a really well put together kids' animated film watch this and Cartoon Saloon's other movies.
