Gonna be real, the entitlement fans feel like they have to creatives is getting out of hand. Like, legitimately, these people are not your playthings.

Years of seeing pics of Stan Lee with Marvel cutouts and sculptures in comics led me to this moment. I will most likely never get to do anything this silly ever again. $280 well spent! Anyway, check out the pilot for STARSTRUCK! ⬇️Watch Below⬇️

I don't wanna keep pointing at Obsession and Backrooms, because god knows I'M tired of hearing about them, but small budgets and big returns just makes sense. Hell, MID budgets and big returns makes sense.

I have no opinion on the film itself, but from an outsider looking in, Hollywood needs to control it's spending. Why couldn't this have been a 75 million dollar movie? If Cruise loves film so much, why couldn't he have taken a pay cut?

I haven't seen Digger, but all the talk about "Because this failed, movies are going to suffer" feels more like a systemic issue. Maybe putting 250 MILLION DOLLARS into an arthouse movie and overpaying it's lead star to go on a press tour is the problem.

Been watching Tales From The Crypt. I don't remember this many this many guys with ponytails.

I have to remind myself that so many people online are just bots or scammers being paid to start shit, but seeing people write the most horrific shit is making me lose faith in humanity.

Can we just like, destroy the internet and rebuild it?

I remember seeing the teaser and being like "Oh, it's about a crazy dude who loves diggin' holes at the beach". I think I would've been more interested in seeing it if that were the case.

Last night, I watched gameplay footage of a man fighting a giant bee in a dream and I was scared to fall asleep because I thought I might dream of that giant bee.

What does it take to make it as an intergalactic rock star? Spunky earthling PA Harper Hiiragi is about to find out as she jams and works overtime across the universe. We made a cartoon and we are…

I think Dreamworks Animation would benefit from creating a sub-division that deals in more teen/adult fare.

I really loved Forgotten Island, but damn, was that movie BEGGING to be PG-13.

I'd heard about it through Letterboxd and for that same amount of time, it held a fairly strong 3.5 on there and then suddenly because cartoon "fandoms" decided it was Satan's spawn, it got review bombed.

I'm not naming names, your milage may vary, but in my humble opinion there are far, FAR too many Youtube critics getting by with flying colors on an an outdated "angry reviewer' content style.

Negativity is also just rewarded by the algo. Thumbnails with "IT'S TERRIBLE" slapped on a promo image of a show will rake in hundreds of thousands of views. Hacks are incentivized to act on their worst instincts.

The Lesbian Space Princess thing just completely depressed me. I don't care about the movie, maybe it IS that bad, but we don't need EVERY critic talking to us about it. It is slopformation overload.

Gary | LOOKING FOR WRITING WORK @mutantastronaut.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I think, more than anything in animation right now, I'm tired of there being an infamous movie and/or show that gets dogpiled on and content creators just follow suit and create slop reaction videos. If you've avoided doing this, or at the very least, TRIED to be nuanced, you rule in my book.

Can anyone help me find a 90s/2000s Goofy short about him representing different decades. I remember they make him a 90s tech slacker at one point. It's either Mickey Mouse Works or House Of Mouse.

I haven't seen the film, but I can already tell it was mismanaged, promotion wise.

More of the marketing should've leaned into the millennial (and now gen z) aspects of aging and instead, they relied on that Crash Bandicoot thing to sell it.

Ultimately, Forgotten Islands failure at the box office falls on Dreamworks not understanding that 20 and 30somethings enjoy whimsy, too.

Ultimately it probably did get the execs a nice chunk of change because the AI company they used most likely lined their pockets nicely so they wouldn't back down when called out for this dumb shit.

Hey ya'll, did you know I created an indie animated series? It's called Failing Upward and it's about two long distance slacker friends just trying to get by! If you love stuff like Downtown, Daria, or Scott Pilgrim, you should check it out! Check the reply for more!
