Rewind our game into a 90s anime VHS tape - with chroma subsampling 1. Create “color bleeding” artifacts - record colors at lower resolution than brightness 2. Convert the image into chroma and luma textures at different downscaled resolutions 3. Scale back up & recombine. Result: Nostalgia ✅
