I bought myself a really cute little rainbow timer that has a nice visual cue for how much time is left. I started by literally just giving myself 5 mins on the clock (to create a document, add a title, maybe generic section headers). Then would give myself a break (again timed) and slowly build up.
A blue mechanical timer with a twist knob at the center. The timer is currently set to 40 mins; remaining time is shown with a curved rainbow and a cute little cartoon cloud. This rainbow disappears (twists back out of sight) as the clock counts down.

Thought I would share this slide I found from a lightning talk a year ago, excuse the slightly awkward crop to remove personal info from the bottom. The idea was to provoke thought around colour maps!
Colourful PowerPoint slide with two pink-toned heatmaps on the left and three images of Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia with different colour maps: "jet", "spring" and "plasma". The images show how jet creates artificial ramps, while spring hides details in the extremes.

The slide text reads: "Teaching: intro to Data Visualisation with Python". An arrow points to the stats heatmaps on the left, and reads "D&D 5e Monster stats, inspired by the Dungeons & Data Project (Dan Keefe, 2020; dev.to/petritract/dungeons-data-2675)". An arrow points down to the images of princess Leia, and reads "Heat map biased (photo: Getty Images), inspired by Crameri et al. (2020), using Matplotlib colour maps." The bottom of the slide has been cropped off to remove contact information.
