I just changed a sentence in a blog post - from 'there are 14 suspect shoes to fill' to 'there are 14 suspect roles to fill' - in case any customers complained the game didn't contain shoes 🤦‍♀️

Did you know? Murderous Decisions is a new range of murder mystery party games where you and your guests choose how to investigate... if you can agree that is! Find out more in our Guide to Murderous Decisions games 👀 murdermysterystore.co.uk/blogs/help/a...
An image split in two. On the left it says "Ask about the fight?" over an darkened image of a boxer and on the right it says "Ask about the money?" overlaid on a dark image of dollar bills. On either side several cartoonish hands stick up (this is meant to look like you and your guests are voting and not that you're zombies emerging from your graves).

I just started listening to this new-ish podcast, on @steffanalun.bsky.social's recommendation. Guy 1 is writing a murder mystery and guy 2 is directing the detective's next move, like whodunit D&D. It's the kind of thing you'd probably like if you follow me. www.thedirecteddetective.com/2253345

Huge thanks to Diana from Pennsylvania for sending us this brilliant photo from a recent Murder in the Roaring '20s party she hosted. Don't the flappers and dappers look amazing? ✨🍸
A tall image cut in two. The top half is filled by a group photograph of murder mystery party guests dressed in 1920s clothing: sparkling dresses with beaded necklaces, feathered hairbands, sharp tailored suits and hats. They stand in front of a backdrop resembling a beaded curtain with a glittering chandelier.

The bottom half is styled to look like the back of a postcard with the words POSTCARD FROM OUR PARTY at the top. On the left is a quote in handwritten font that reads 'It was a huge hit!' and it's signed - Diana and the gang, Pennsylvania, USA. The right of the postcard features an image of the game in question: Murder in the Roaring '20s Murder Mystery Flexi Party game.

5 years ago, in Oct 2019, a multi-million-dollar US corporation attacked our murder mystery trademark, unfairly and without due process. It’s been a slow stressful legal battle and the damage has been immeasurable but thankfully, last week, we won. Now we can focus on games again, and breathe ❤️

I spent a long time putting together this Spotify playlist for Murder in the Library (our game of the week) but honestly the first track is the only one you need 😅 Theme from Miss Marple (Joan Hickson edition) open.spotify.com/playlist/3C2...
The incomparable Joan Hickson as Miss Marple, in front of a huge stately home. An older white lady in a straw(?) hat with a narrow brim and black ribbon. She also wears a grey tweed jacket and a white blouse with a brooch fastened at the collar. Her white hair is swept back off her face and she bears an expression of astute contemplation.

Screencap of a Pinterest board full of party inspiration: vintage books and cats in sunlit libraries, strawberries and cream layered into a sponge cake, pretty floral china in greens and pinks, book themed table decorations, a typewriter, an English country manor house, an older lady bedecked in pink (who looks suspiciously like romance author Barbara Cartland), a faded Mills & Book romance paperback and, inexplicably, an owl.A slim white rectangular box with a bright label across the centre. Today I'm putting the finishing touches to Captain Speaking, a new expansion character for Murder at the Casino ♣️♥️ #murdermysteryparty #amwriting
A screencap of the character sheet cover with the name Captain Speaking above an image of Las Vegas at night. Text underneath reads "Spoiler Alert - Do Not Open Until The Host Starts The Game" followed by the costume suggestion: "Reassuring and experienced. As a pilot, you wear a crisp white shirt and black tie, with a double-breasted blazer and cap if you’re feeling fancy. Don’t forget to show off those gold stripes on your shoulders!"A screencap of the inside of the character sheet: "READ THIS INTRODUCTION WHEN THE GAME STARTS… Good evening, this is your captain speaking—I mean, I’m your captain, Captain Speaking. I fly Sterling’s private jet. It’s a glamorous life. Bora Bora, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul… those are just some of the airport tarmacs I’ve waited on. Sadly I wasn’t invited to the party, I just came here to drop something off. Then I stuck around to take a shower and do two loads of laundry… but that’s almost certainly not relevant."
