Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 10/04/2025Yeah, we ran a kickstarter last year, and have a different product about to hit the water. If nothing changes, we'll have a >$200,000 tax bill. That's multiple people's salaries. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 10/04/2025*In a single player experience, Cheating in multiplayer is robbing other people of fun, and that sucks. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 10/04/2025IMO People are better experts on what they have fun with than designers. I don't think anyone is robbing themselves of anything by skipping (or cheating*) their way through an experience. That doesn't mean all games have to be for all people, and difficult games still have their place. 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 05/04/2025Sultai if you feel confident, Temur if you just want big stuff to throw at someone. 010
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 05/04/2025As a board game developer, and specifically one who operates on Kickstarter, basically any board game Kickstarter run in the past 6-12 months just saw their operating profit vanish in a cloud of smoke. Our industry is about to get decimated. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 05/04/2025This game rules and I'm so happy that people are still finding it. 010
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 07/03/2025For a lot of people, tariffs are not a distraction. They are impactful and will cost jobs and livelihood. 130
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Found this through the pointcrow vid. Looking forward to a release and amazing work. 010
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 24/02/2025IME people don't like admitting that their takes are subjective. A decent chunk of internet culture lacks the nuance to recognize that subjective takes are valid and important, that a vast majority of criticism is subjective, and that they aren't rooting in objectivity when they speak. 040

Reposted by BrianDan Thurot @danthurot.bsky.social · 19/02/2025Thunder Road: Vendetta is another effort by Restoration Games that not only captures the spirit of the original, but supercharges it. My review: spacebiff.com/2025/02/19/t...spacebiff.comWitness My Exhaust Pipe, SuckaThere’s something refreshing about Thunder Road: Vendetta. In a bygone era we would have called it Ameritrash, although there’s an elegance under the hood that belies its spots of rust.… 1484
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 15/02/2025I love the Marriage% speedruns in Stardew Valley, where the first 15-20 minutes of the run are carving crop circles in the beach. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Have you played Outer Wilds, a game released in the exact same year, which I constantly get confused with this game? 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025tbh, this is my 'personal' social media now, so I'm just blocking/muting people who talk about politics on here. This place is for games and comics and pictures of animals. 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 20/01/2025I usually hate puzzle games, but Storyteller clicked for me in a way that little else has. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 16/12/2024I saw this so many times in video games. My first job was a team of 20 balance designers, and by last count only one other person besides me was still in games. 140

Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 14/12/2024Patrick and I are going to get some sleep deprivation for the kids, starting at 10AM ET. Come watch us bungle through Elden Ring, while hopefully being a little bit entertaining. And if you have the means, please toss a couple of bucks towards towards CT Children's hospitals. 100

It's a tool for making fake video game screenshots, just fill in new text and it'll give you a (generally) pixel-accurate image back, the correct fonts and everything. deathgenerator.com 1242220058488
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024If he's into math + Engineering, Mark Rober's Build Boxes are awesome. 010
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/202410. Tribes of Midgard - This game has been on my list for like 4 years now. It hasn't changed in the last two. This is the comfort game. We load it up and play when we've had a bad week, or we don't want to learn something new. It's the nice cup of tea that we all remember. And it's still great. 000
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20249. Helldivers 2 - I really need to get back to this, but helldivers probably has the best moment to moment gameplay of any game I've played this year. It's just so much fun to load up and roll out to shoot bugs and robutts. 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20248. Cascadia - This came out in 2021, but I played it for the first time this year. Another thinky game, but longer and very pretty. You make an ecosystem for your wildlife and they all want different things. You will be frustrated by trout. 200
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20247. Mechwarrior 5 - I pull this game out every couple of years with some friends. Stompin around in a big dumb suit is always going to be fun. But having a 'go to sleep' button is always going to be better. 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20246. DaDaDa - Okay I literally just picked this up at PAX Unplugged, but I played like 10 games of it there. You make a lil fake language by putting out syllables and attaching pictures to them. Then you try and talk to each other. It's incredibly clever and very fun. 210
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20245 Mecha Simultactics - So this game is only in Alpha. Barely a tech demo. Bottom of the barrel. And it slaps. The core systems are so good that I've put like 15 hours into it. It's a turn based multiplayer fighting game where you pilot a mech and punch each other. Or sword each other. It is so good. 110
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20244. River City Glassworks - Another cute little game that got way more mileage than I expected. It's the perfect filler game. Just thinky enough to take enough brainspace, but playing in under an hour. 110
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024Ticket to Ride: Legends of the West - TTR, but Legacy. I'm a sucker for a legacy game, and being able to do it with my train game folks is double plus good. Also when you get to [spoiler] you can [spoiler] [spoiler] [spoiler] 110
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/20242. Elden Ring (Seamless Co-op Mod) - Elden Ring is great, but the seam co op mod lets it function how everything should function. Everyone gets a horse, you all walk in and get blasted by a Fire Giant. This game rules. 100
Brian @murderknuckles.bsky.social · 09/12/2024It's about time for my top 10 games of 2024. I don't think the order of this thing is particularly necessary, here's my list. It's probably gonna be multiple posts. Or Skeets. Or whatever they're called here. 1. Abiotic Factor - Truly a fun game with friends. It's Don't Starve by way of Half-Life 2 120
