I'd heard the Jihu had space for LED lights built in but was never able to get a good answer about what that meant, what size LED etc. The ones I have (with small batteries) seem like I could wrangle them in there with a bit of careful sanding, but maybe I'll just do it properly and use wired ones.

Had a couple preorders come in just in time and filled out one last order with some odds and ends before the move. My gunpla enabler will still ship to the rural-ish area I'm headed to but I'll need to make orders larger and further apart so save on shipping compared to Toronto.

I have no idea if I'm playing Cicadamata correctly but I'm having a good time. I get why scoring-wise they want you to do more than just oneshot the enemies, but I want to go fast.

Ahead of my imminent move I'm going to pack up all my most fragile/valuable items first and store them at a relative's - first time packing gunpla for transport. This seems fine if not overkill for a long car ride. No need to take off Vidar's fin but Barbatos definitely. It needs a repaint anyways.

I was gifted a box of these 'Sembo Block' gunpla-like dudes that come in blind boxes. I combined a couple of my dupes because I thought it'd look cool and I like how it turned out. Apparently these are based on Honor of Kings (the MOBA)? Last I checked that wasn't a mecha game, but what do I know.

A couple of Sembo Block gunpla-esque blind box models that you have to assemble yourself. I combined a few of them to create the one on the right with gold highlights from a different variant.

MG Wing Gundam Zero Ver.Ka Completed 2026-06-14 Painted the yellow bits gold as per usual. It has some really cool mechanics and lots of freedom to pose the wings. Looks amazing on the shelf that's for sure.

HG RGM-86R GMIII Completed 2026-05-05 Little bonus I built since my airbrushing area was temporarily unavailable after I finished Epyon. Not big on color correcting stickers and probably should've left them off, but I like how chonky it is. Threw on some leftover decals from other kits.

RG Gundam Epyon Completed 2026-05-05 I started this one in December, but we got there eventually. Mostly my standard stuff - painted a few pieces gold, water decals, flat topcoat. Left the green stickers off because there's some light piping back there which lets you goof off with UV lights.

All right, time to get back to building - RG Epyon is done, just waiting to be able to use my airbrush again. To get back into the swing of things I'm putting together the RGM-86R GMIII, which was gifted to me. Don't have much attachment to ZZ but I do like the design. Nice easy breezy HG so far.

HG GQuuuuuuX Completed 2025-11-28 Had an incident with the head crest where it broke into four (!) different pieces in my hands, I'm happy that I was able to fix it but still not quite looking how I'd like. Other than that pretty impressive for an HG, not TOO many color correcting stickers.

I want to do 3 different Wing kits next, 2 MGs and an RG. I figured to stay consistent with what I did on the Tallgeese a while back I'll paint all the yellow bits the same shade of gold - might as well do it all at once, since it's a multi-day process and not that many parts.

"Fat Cat" 1/100 RG RX-78-2 Completed 2025-10-21 Some of those joints were so tight my thumbs were sore for days afterwards. That kind of works in its favor in the end though - it's an absolute joy to pose. Kind of did my own thing with the decals since the MG Origin ones I had didn't quite fit.

The 'fat cat' bootleg upscaled 1/100 RG RX-78-2 gunpla. It's slashing downwards with its beam saber in a pose similar to the eyecatch from the original 0079 Gundam series.

Just realized it was actually 1 year ago today since I built my first model. I've come a long way but still plenty more to learn - the model show I visited today was definitely both humbling and inspiring.

Stopped by the Torcan model show today, figured I'd post some of the cool stuff I saw there. The vast majority of the floor was dedicated to things like military and car models but there was a decent amount of gunpla and other mecha.

HG Scopedog Completed 2025-08-27 Fully painted with some weathering. Starting to get the hang of this. The model itself was a breeze to assemble, though it does kinda make me want to seek out one of those 1/24 older kits with a cockpit and Chirico figure.

Also got the Yuanzu Fat Cat, any resemblance to the RG 2.0 RX-78-2 upscaled to 1/100 is purely coincidental. I've got some newfangled water based Stedi panel liner as well that should be safe to use on bare plastic even if this is ABS like reported.

Couple new pickups today - finally got a good price on Daizengar to be ready for when Bandai announces HG Aussenseiter...any day now. But yeah, going to paint him I think. It's a cool kit that apparently doesn't use stickers but I think I could do some cool stuff with it.

Here's what I'll be doing next - planning to fully paint this one and experiment with weathering techniques. Wanna make it real grimy looking. Also got a new airbrush that I'm definitely looking forward to trying out on this guy, from early testing seems like a nice upgrade from my GHAD-39.

MG Tallgeese Completed 2025-08-14 This one is partially painted, I wanted to change it to the 'anime version' colours. But I also made some other adjustments like the head crest and metallic highlights. Had a few rough spots doing this one but I definitely learned a lot in the process. #gunpla

I've been meaning to start MG Tallgeese for a while and all the Gundam Wing talk pushed me over the edge on it. The plan isn't to fully paint it but I do want to convert it to the 'anime version' colour scheme. Except I also want to keep the yellow stuff as gold highlights.

Next up, finally managed to get my hands on one of these goofy things. Right off the bat the manual is kinda amazing, has some little history lessons on how far gunpla technology has progressed. Also was surprised to see color separation for the head vulcans, which is an improvement over the EG.

I'd like to airbrush a couple more gunpla as practice, but my real goal is to combine a couple of the 30MM Armored Core 6 kits into an approximation of my 'real' AC. This is a combination of Nightfall and Liger Tail - still deciding on a paint scheme, but it's nice I can preview it in-game.

SDCS Zaku-II Completed 7/25/2025 My first time custom painting gunpla - I didn't base the colour scheme on anything in particular, just thought it'd look cool. Made a lot of mistakes while learning, so I ended up incorporating them into the weathering.

For my first test project with this airbrush I'd like to attempt to fix Gunleon's guns. I don't know if I want to do exactly like the example but I could certainly get at least somewhat closer. If the base plastic had been orange I'd probably have attempted it with markers already.

HG Gundam Calibarn Completed 7/17/2025 I picked this one up before I even watched Witch From Mercury because I liked the look of it so much. I could see myself grabbing a few more of this line, this one was great. Also my first time using both holo decals and my airbrush (for a gloss topcoat).

MG Gundam Vidar Completed 7/2/2025 Vidar has all of the fun of MG Barbatos and not only did they fix some of its issues, they included spare parts to either fix or convert the older inner frame. It's been fun gathering my thoughts about all my models while updating my photos, all caught up now.

HG Weissritter Completed 4/28/2025 Would be cool if they eventually do the upgraded versions of this one and Alt, though I know Kotobukiya has versions of those from years ago. I just really like what Bandai did with the SRW kit designs and they are super fun to build.

EG RX-78-2 Completed 4/23/2025 I've been using this one as a weathering testbed. I did more since the last time I posted it, and will probably keep messing with it (want to try dry brushing next). EGs are surprisingly cool, I like that no stickers were involved.

MG Zaku-II (Char Aznable Custom) Completed 4/20/2025 It was really interesting seeing the technological advancement from that old Gouf Custom I did to this. It's a bit old but holds up great...though, those tubes made my fingers hurt.

RG God Gundam Completed 3/23/2025 This would probably be my favorite kit if it was 1/100 but it's still pretty great. Didn't have issues with tiny parts this time, maybe I just improved in general since my previous RG.

MG Hyaku Shiki 2.0 Completed 2/24/2025 Got nothing to complain about here, it looks incredible and build experience is immaculate due to extensive undergating. Though honestly I was too scared to do much to it beyond a few dry transfer decals, for fear of ruining the painted finish.

MG Sazabi Ver.Ka Completed 2/3/2025 Put a ton of work into this one and got some aftermarket stuff for it to go a little bit further. Eye LED is magnet activated so I don't have to constantly change the battery but it's not too hard to get at.

SD Gogg, Acguy and Zock set Completed 1/25/2025 These guys all came together in a box set, I actually started a different kit (to be posted next) before this. I put these guys together as a little break from that beast. For as simple as they are the Zock and Gogg have some fun eye-moving mechanics.

MG GM Sniper II Completed 1/1/2025 Definitely lived up to its (fantastic) reputation. Super solid build all around, and I love how poseable it is.
