Sitcoms these days are so busy trying to be hard hitting dramas that they forget to put any jokes in.

MuchWhittering @muchwhittering.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

It's a shame because I would argue the Hasbro era is probably the best 5-season run the show has ever had. Maybe it's because I am one of those older fans, I dunno. No clue what kids thought of it, but I sure loved it.

Just finished Series 2 of Ludwig. We'll add this onto the ever-growing list of things where I think "Why are people online moaning, it was great".

I've never seen any Sophia Loren films, but does she often have throbbing erections in them?

Series 1 of Ludwig is finally available on disk, but it's DVD only. In 2026. Why? At this point there is 0 excuse for anything to be DVD only when Blu-Ray has been around for 20 years. Who is buying physical media in 2026 but only has a DVD player?

Almost 3 months later, I'm done with Gen 3, and we're off to Sinnoh. This is where I stopped watching as a kid pretty much, so I'm excited to delve into the 20 more years of this show that I've missed out in since then! #Pokemon #ポケモン

It's not even been released on GOG on PC, even though the previous games in the series were there at launch. Disappointing they've seemingly stopped caring about preservation.

Persian's been added to Pokémon Champions. Time to use this Shiny Alolan Meowth that I randomly found on the 15th of March 2018 and haven't touched since. #PokemonChampions #pokemon

People watch Mrs Brown's Boys. I don't like it either, but people watch it, so it keeps getting made.

I enjoyed that, but I am really worried about the Gavan stuff. I loved Donbrothers, but the Zenkaiger stuff they rammed in was by far the worst bit of that show. Please Toei, let it just be for this opening 2 parter, and then let this show be its own thing. #Omegahorn

You couldn't make Star Wars these days because environmental activists would get all up in arms about blowing up a planet. Saying it's bad for the environment.

All those Genwunners love going on about Bye Bye Butterfree. Meanwhile I just watched Misty say goodbye to Togetic, a character we've known for about 270 episodes. So, you know, I actually give a shit. #Pokemon #Pokémon #ポケモン

Gen 3 is when I got into Pokémon, so I'm looking forward to reliving some more childhood nostalgia. Especially in an era where they finally realised they didn't have to give Ash all the starters, they were allowed to give them to other characters too. #Pokemon #Pokémon #ポケモン

Finished what's officially called the original series of Pokémon. Honestly it did kind of feel like a finale. Seeing Ash use basically every one of his Pokémon in the Johto League before they inevitably get relegated to nothing but cameos in Oak's lab. #Pokemon #Pokémon #ポケモン

Kay Patrick was a lovely, kind, intelligent woman who managed to act in two Doctor Whos, direct nearly 300 Coronation Streets and write a book! She also generously gave me a couple of otherwise lost photos from The Savages we can now all enjoy thanks to her. So sad that she has died: RIP Kay ❤️
