I look at it as: would I choose this person to be a friend? If not, I'm good with no, or just minimal, contact. Some say - but they're family. I don't buy into that as the basic logic. I'm not a punching bag & won't repeatedly set myself up for that, be the punches large or small.

A death row inmate with dementia among other ailments? What is the point of an execution at that point? Just absolute cruelty. That fact that executions take years/decades to even occur is, IMHO, all the more reason to do away with them. This part of the justice system is just way out of balance.
