I don't like Twitter and I certainly don't like musk, but I don't think anyone who pays for the checkmark supports what musk stands for. I think they are paying for the checkmark to boost engagement, simple as that.

I watched a Waymo turn right out of a parking lot, crank an illegal U-turn across 3 lanes (from the rightmost lane), then pull back into the same parking lot, albeit one driveway further down the road. I gotta say I'm impressed, that's the kind of dumbass maneuver I'd expect from a real human being.

On the subject of neat technology on commercial airliners, I have notes for whomever decided to add the proximity / motion flush in the 787 lavatory. When I tripped that thing while still on the seat for a brief second I thought the cabin depressurized and I was holding on for dear life.
