It's comics-teaching daaaayyyy!!! Me and @mtscomics.bsky.social will be guest teaching at a middle school comics class. Pause there- our friend, a middle school English teacher, got his school to add a comics class to the actual school curriculum. 🤩🎉🎉🎉 Bringing minicomics and blueline prints 🔥

A photo of goodies for the middle school comics class. Top right is an 8x10" blueline print of Jack Kirby art, bottom left is a minicomic with a blue cover, "Concerning Frederick Douglass" by Lauren Sparks. Bottom right is a minicomic with a pink cover, "You Smell Like Pancakes" by Lauren Sparks.

I dropped off an #artcommission for a happy couples anniversary yesterday. If you'd like a commission like this details on how are on my Ko-Fi: ko-fi.com/chateaudemagie Also, I happened to be wearing my @mtscomics.bsky.social "Fight! Artists Fight!" Shirt. If you want one like it check MTS out!

I dropped off the finished commission of the pups Bella, Lola and Piper for this happy couples anniversary. The flowers set out coincidentally matched Bella's collar so it made for some very nice photos to show how completed 9x12 commissions look in their frame when they are delivered to the commissioner in person or by mail.

If you want to get a commission like this check out the different tiers on my Ko-Fi.

https://ko-fi.com/chateaudemagie

Next up will be David's commissions, some more Bhalu progress, Inktober news and an Intro Video going over 2026 plans. 🥳 🤗

Note: A preference for Privacy or promotion of you or your art commission is up to you! If you commission me or hire me to pet/house sit for you and prefer to keep it discreet just let me know and I will adjust accordingly. No photos, video or public posts will be made without your permission first. 🤝

I get asked about the shirt I'm wearing in this photo a lot while I'm walking around in public in it. The design is by a fellow comic artist I met on Tik Tok that you can follow here on BlueSky @mtscomics.bsky.social

Went sketching in downtown Cincinnati with @mtscomics.bsky.social yesterday. Were only able to stay a couple hours; gonna need to go again with more time 😍

A photo of a sketchbook page with drawing utensils resting vertically in the middle: a blue water brush pen, a B graphite pencil, and a Sketch & Wash graphite pencil. Around these are sketches of a multi-building streetscape (left), an elaborate door detail (top right), and and a tall narrow old edifice with interesting windows (right).

I’m at Cincinnati Comic Expo with @mtscomics.bsky.social today! We have the new second issue of his and @brianlevel.bsky.social’s comic Cherubim. 🎉🎉🎉 I don’t usually like horror-adjacent stories, but this one’s pretty great! (Admittedly, I am biased.)

A silly selfie with the Cherubim banner. It has an illustration of the mail character, wearing golden armor and a gold mask with small horns and sheep ears.

A photo of the cover of the comic book Cherubim, issue 2: “Open Graves part 2”. The cover shows a graveyard with a grotesque man with purple hair, a bulging eye and one oversized arm leaning over a central grave stone. The central gravestone reads “here lies Cherubim”. The man places Cherubim’s mask on the grave’s freshly dug dirt, and a bouquet of roses lies in the dirt in the close foreground.

I keep forgetting to post about this. My comic “You Smell Like Pancakes” tied for 2nd place for the SPACE minicomic prize, at the Small Press Alternative Comic Expo in Columbus Ohio. Thanks so much to Bob Corby for mailing me the plaque since I couldn’t make it to the show! 😱💖

A photo of the minicomic “You smell like pancakes” leaning against some kitchen storage containers. Size is 5.5x4.25”. Cover is made of brown cardstock with the title rubber-stamped on with white ink, embellished with patterned paper.
