1000%. One of many curses of AI is the proclivity to use 100 words when 55 words will do and these are the right 55. The transformation is inevitable, the risks could not be more real, get your (our) shit figured out.

We have www.costco.ca/p/-/roborock... which apparently is just a rebrand of (I'm not entirely sure which) Roborock (see www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/c...). It's been rock solid for us, all hardwood floors w/ minimal area rugs. Lots of ever-shifting clutter, shoes, etc and it deals with it all just fine

Echoing this. We have... whatever Roborock model it is that Costco sells and it's a damn revelation. One thing to note is that any individual clean isn't nearly as good as you can do by hand, but they massively compound day over day.

I did some similar work with UTF-8 validation (github.com/elixir-lang/...) and the benchmarking was SUPER surprising regarding bit sizes. The sort of thing that a robot would be great at.

Add `:fast_ascii` mode to `String.valid?/2` by mtrudel · Pull Request #12360 · elixir-lang/elixir
Based on the discussion on #12354, this PR adds an optional :fast_ascii option to String.valid?/2 (based on the bit56 algorithm discussed there). I've confirmed that this implementation yields ...

What if ‘literally blocking out the sun’ becomes a thing that incumbent energy companies start specializing in? Like Dyson spheres used for evil.

This fellow gamed out the timelines for the Switch 2 (which is undoubtedly 'easier' to manufacture, relatively speaking) and, well, if you substitute 'months' for 'weeks' you're still outside the realm of possibility, even at the tiniest of scale. bsky.app/profile/meze...

The community levels in Portal 2 are ~mostly all great too! (there's the odd stinker but you can skip as needed). The best ones are far more diabolical than even the last few levels in the actual game

I’m in the same boat (on a 12 month recall schedule I think) and though it’s always a clean bill of health, the severity of the alternative keeps me going back

Speaking as a Canadian you Have No Idea How Deadly Serious we take this shit. Being the world’s undisputed superpower for decades is NOT free; your words have consequences you can scarcely imagine for the rest of us.

Seriously though, the thing about chaos is that you can both make a *lot* of money if you front-run it, and also milk a bunch of political capital when you later 'solve' it. When you yourself are the cause of the chaos, both of those things are trivial. Guy is making unholy bank in both senses.
