Right now in Los Angeles, major social media companies are facing a landmark trial over claims their platforms were designed in ways that harmed young users. Big Tech should be held accountable for how their platforms are designed.

Another government shutdown looming, and working families will be the ones to pay the price–and that’s on top of the layoffs, healthcare cuts, and revoked education funding that Congress has already passed.

Unlike what some pushing false info would have you believe, abortion drugs like mifepristone have repeatedly been proven safe for patients. The fight against access to mifepristone happening in Congress and here in Montana is yet another attack on our right to reproductive care.

New SNAP, Medicaid rules could cost many kids free school meals
Recent changes tightening eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid could leave hundreds of thousands of families without benefits.

When critical services like food assistance and healthcare are made harder to access, it’s our kids who pay the price. Tightened SNAP & Medicaid eligibility = fewer kids well-fed and prepared to learn.

When you see harmful or misleading information online, remember not to engage with it, even to call it out. Remember to leverage your personal relationships with people who may be contributing to the disinformation, and ask questions.

Especially in tense times, it falls on each of us to refuse to contribute to disinformation running wild. It’s easy to post and share things quickly and without being thoughtful, but it’s important to check your facts and pause.

Whether it’s an iced tea or a snack, or a replacement part for your car, tariffs are driving up costs across the board. But we don’t know what we’ll do if they come for the hot dogs next!

Municipal elections are happening across Montana this year, but what does that mean? What does your local municipality do? Well, the bottom line is that if you’re seeing changes in your neighborhood, it’s probably something your municipal government decided!

You may see people talking about the bill allowing for more deductions for taxpayers 65 and over. This is true! But, while these deductions are coming, there is a “phaseout threshold,” which means that these deductions will not apply to everyone.

Leaving it blank or marking a date inconsistent with your voter registration will result in your ballot being rejected, so pay close attention! Your birth year is NOT required for the primary election in September, but it will be included just for practice.

Helena is having its first municipal primary election in two decades! Some important changes were made in the 2025 legislature, though, and here’s what you need to know. Starting on 10/1/25, all mail-in and absentee ballots will require your birth year on the ballot envelope.

As MT child care industry continues to struggle, a program proven to help comes to an end
Some workers with their own kids in day care will soon face a choice: pony up the cash to cover staggering increases to tuition payments or cut back on work.

FYI: Having a child in full-time daycare in Montana is more expensive than 4 years of in-state university tuition – and the Trump administration just cut the funding for a pilot program that was helping families across Montana afford the cost.
