Deeply envious of those who were present at the inaugural UltraSLP Conference featuring all tho fs ultrasound in speech-language pathology. I’m very grateful I could present virtually, but SO wish I were there in person learning from the experts!

The convo about incorporating it in class was brilliant! I had them do centers - they had to do a funding request, play with the ultrasound, and a few other things. Students found it helpful.

It was a great convo. Tricia demonstrated the Lumify for me. I was surprised to hear it wasn’t allowed already in CA. We don’t use it for diagnostics - so no problem here.

I was part of a panel discussion about eligibility guidelines for the schools recently. The conversation was “DLD doesn’t need to be recognized as a disability category because it’s interchangeable with specific language disability”. SMH

Great picture. I’m hoping for not too much ice this year. I can handle snow and I can handle cold. I hate driving on ice.

Today we had ultrasound training (in person) with Sarah Dugan and learned how we can use ultrasound for speech sound disorders and had some great research thoughts. Now to find the time to do it!

Conversation I had with coworkers the other day is still on my mind. If you are a PhD/EdD would you consider a non-tenure track job? Why or why not? What about an 11-month contract va 9 month with optional summer work?

I think I may have it narrowed down. SODA is the age old acronym for artic (I think). The chart listing assimilations is in relation to intelligibility. Maybe it’s just confusion over function of acronyms??? (This may be a hard one to unconfuse).

Quick poll for my #slpeeps. In the acronym SODA what does the A stand for - assimilations or additions? I have seen it both ways and I’m trying to vet the sources.
