The Little House That Needed a Witch by Sophie Pluim, Translated by Polly Lawson: A Picture Book
A version of this review originally appeared in an issue of School Library Journal: When an old witch leaves her house in the fall and doesn't return all winter, the little house knows that the witch has become part of the forest. Grass grows high around its walls in spring and vines climb its porch railings in the summer. As autumn comes again, the house decides to search for a new witch.
