Paired up with an amazing designer, and we're kicking it off next week! Right after we spoke for the first time, he sat down and drew this. We were sold. x.com/MatijaSosic...

One way to think about Wasp: what NixOS is to your operating system, Wasp is to your web app. You get to declaratively specify the core parts of your app (pages, cron jobs, data operations, email sender, ...) and Wasp will take care of it all working as it should, together.

Wasp is the first web framework to let you define an explicit "schema" for your web app. Think of it as a database schema, but for auth, routes, cron jobs, data operations, email sending, and so on.

Finally found the perfect AI coding setup. Talking into a mic is way too slow. I just steer the agents as they run. If you're not doing this already, I'm sorry but you're ngmi.

The best way to stop feeling doomerish about AI taking away our jobs is to simply sit down and try using it in your work. Always cheers me up.

Folks saying "frameworks are over" and "React is all you need" are missing the point. It's like saying, "Assembly is dead, I just use C++/JavaScript". Just because you don't see it or care about it anymore doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

So I am building a web framework in 2026 AMA

What made Wasp "click" for you? What was the magic moment? Our users typically say stuff like: > It just makes me feel safe, in control > I can go fast, but without taking shortcuts > Everything is handled for me

Spent my whole building budget on my dev setup configuration: ❖ Wasp - full-stack framework ❖ Tmux - terminal session manager ❖ Workmux - parallel agents in tmux ❖ Neovim - editor At first, it felt like "should I really be spending time on this?", but I decided I won't feel bad about it.

Back to building my own app with Wasp! Being able to break full-stack features down into spec TS files is such a game changer. Feels super clean, and I can see what every feature does at a glance. No digging through FE/BE code, router, etc.

Retro computing style is the new Linear black-with-gradient trend that dev tools now default to. I like it, but it kinda starts to feel forced.

I appreciate Notion (I've been an early adopter), but simply writing stuff out in my editor is so enjoyable. Just me and my filesystem, no network and X layers beneath. I guess with AI doing the coding, I missed it more than I knew.

Back after a short break! I have so many ideas and things I'd like to do with Wasp it's kinda overwhelming. But I guess it's a good sign.

Needed to get this out of my system: - Knowing how to code is crucial. No AI or tooling can replace that - AI won't generate assembly. I'm sorry, but it simply doesn't make sense. - Stop comparing LLMs to a compiler. It's not the same, and it does more damage than good. Thank you.

Spoke to one of the Wasp builders yesterday - he's used both Next and TanStack and is convinced none of them matches the DX of Wasp. That's very exciting to hear. Also makes me think about the best way to spread that excitement.

Is creating a new sandbox or coding agent equivalent to creating a new social network in 2026?

Many people have found that the act of writing is the act of thinking. It forces one to shape one's reasoning and create a coherent narrative that works from beginning to end. It's a medium that provides resistance and challenges a writer to extract the "core truth" from their message.

I'm now building this for @WaspLang - it's a natural fit due to the declarative TS Spec that captures routes, jobs, data operations, ... We already introduced a basic version of it back in '24, but with AI, it will be 10x better. Some directions I'm thinking about:

I love the rise of Linux with Omarchy. I was an Arch user for years before I switched to Mac (needed my laptop to work with any printer/projector, etc.). At the risk of sounding stupid - what's wrong with Ubuntu and other batteries-included distros?

My thought of the day: a big part of getting other people excited to try your thing is simply you being excited about it in the first place. This is why folks like @dhh and @mitchellh are killing it. Need to start doing more of this myself.

I find it very weird when designers ask me what our budget is. It feels like every answer is the wrong answer. IDK, don't you have an hourly rate, and we'll just multiply that by the number of hours you'll end up putting in?

Refusing to learn how to code is the same as refusing to learn basic arithmetic, because a calculator can do it today. Yes, you could theoretically avoid it, but it will literally make your life 10x harder.

The fact that we have so many issues with AI development is exciting because it means there are so many opportunities. Here's what most annoys and excites me: finding the "correct" workflow for a certain type of development.

There's a real fight between doing the actual work and an urge to upgrade something in my setup. The more work I do, the more ideas I get. To counter it, I created a separate .md file and put these ideas there so I could pick them up later and not veer off track.

Once the models start giving instant answers, I think it will feel very weird for all of us. Like "wait, you just took away my 2 mins of looking through the window".

If you never read code or haven't done it at scale/with the team, you simply can't know what you're missing, nor can you be convinced it's useful. This is why discussions on this topic are so polarized. One side simply doesn’t have the full information.

Whenever in doubt, ask your LLM, and it will usually point you in the right direction. It really works. The trick: knowing when and what to ask. This is what companies will keep paying for.

How do people feel about daily stand-ups in 2026? A boring Scrum thing or something that can actually be useful?

When reviewing code someone else wrote, we don't apply the same rigor to every part of it. We pay more attention to architecture, data models, and "big" decisions, and skim through boilerplate-ish stuff that doesn't carry much weight. The same should hold for AI-generated code.

I still don't find managing multiple agents intuitive. Every time I send out a prompt and wait for the result, I feel I'm in a "dead space" - not enough time to do something else, and too much time to just wait.

I have never run a loop or had agents running over night/weekend to build something for me. Honestly, I have no idea how to start with this, nor what I could realistically expect from such a workflow. If you have done/are doing this, could you share what you learned?

I'm exploring different approaches to explaining what Wasp is to a newcomer in our docs. I ended up building a "manifesto explorer" where I introduce Wasp in the style of @astrodotbuild, Ghostty by @mitchellh, @rails, and a few others.

I spent this morning with Martin figuring out a manifesto for Wasp - why we felt the need to create a new web framework and our vision for it. We've always wanted to have one in writing, and now it feels like the perfect time. Here's what we came up with:

Today I'm recording an episode of @_maintainable with @robbyrussell (you might know him as the Oh My Zsh creator) I'll tell the story of how my brother and I spent 5 years and $5M inventing a new language for web dev, admitted it was a mistake, and tore it out for TypeScript.

How do you stay in the flow while coding with agents? Share your tips + tag folks who are really killing it in that department. I'd really like to figure this out.

Just realized Claude has its own system for subagents/async jobs/worktrees - how do you use it? And how does it work with orchestrators like Conductor/workmux/etc?

I'm looking for a few people to help us usability-test Wasp. The setup: hop on a ~30 min call, try building something small with Wasp while sharing your screen, and think out loud. I stay quiet and take notes - every "wait, what is this?" is what helps us make Wasp better.

We're looking for a designer to take Wasp to the next level. We just rebranded Wasp - blueprints/schematic style, monospace, three colors - and did the whole thing in-house. I'm genuinely proud of how far it's come. But I know a great designer could push it somewhere we can't reach on our own.

Achieving flow state with AI coding is still possible, it just requires more discipline. It's too damn easy to just start prompting before you've spent some time thinking first.

Martin just wrote a post that gives a name to what we're dealing with daily - fixing the AI slop. My favorite quote from Deslopifying:

People saying we don't care about frameworks anymore are wrong. People who cared about frameworks before LLMs still do. And there are more of them who got introduced to frameworks thanks to LLMs. You just don't hear them from all the folks who are now coding and don't know what a framework is.

Doing a task I don't really want (but have) to do is the best source of inspiration for me. I get a ton of ideas for tweets (like this one), Wasp features and new projects. I'm thinking I should strategically save such tasks for when I'm feeling out of steam.

How and where we talk about Wasp is just as important as the product itself. We noticed that over the last few months, as we were pushing the TS Spec release, we lost track of what we were doing and why on the content side.

"LLM writes better code than me" doesn't mean anything, and it's the wrong way to think about it. The best code is one that you and your team understand and can keep working on.

How do you decide when to use Claude chat vs Claude Code vs OpenClaw? I have all of them, and sometimes it's obvious, but often I'm not sure, and whichever I pick, I feel bad for the others who will miss that context. Any tips?
