One bit about my voice training is I'm forever burdened with knowing when people are performing the Transatlantic Accent wrong. So yes, Anna was using a Southern Belle accent during Rulette 2. Demi was also going Southern. Vic Michaelis has gotten close at times, but not fully there.

And no, this isn't just the case of my platonic ideal of pronunciation changing a quiz result. Most people I interact with on a day-to-day basis (and many, MANY YouTube commenters) assume I'm some manner of British. Voice training is a powerful tool for those who know how to wield it

But it's generally pretty interesting that my goal of sounding like a 1920s American actress has so thoroughly erased my dialect history. When I originally took this (or a similar) quiz some years ago, it nailed down my Floridian origins.

The reason here is that my pronunciation has drastically changed. I no longer have the caught-cot merger, I pronounce aunt as "ahnt" instead of "ant", really is now "reely" not "rilly", crayons are "cray-ons" not "crans", etc.

People are doing the dialect map trend, so I took the 122 question test (the extended one uses AI, so I opted out). I was curious if my voice training might affect the results, and I can confirm my self-taught voice change did indeed trick the quiz.

The mydialect.us map indicating I must be from Nevada, highlighting in general that the Weat Coast is most likely where I'm from.

This is supposedly an "authenticity" trend whereby doing things less professionally makes you seem more real. I won't claim my dinky, untreated apartment, cheap mic audio is cleaner, but at least my audio problems are an access issue, not some trend.

hey man we used AI in the production process of this game but don't worry none of it made it in the game, it was a huge waste of time and money, and we could've just looked at stock photos at the end of the day. You have to accept the future.

I guess ultimately because the game takes a fatalist approach to its theming, I'm not all too bothered when a run doesn't work out. I think Slay the Spire is something I'm happier slowly chipping away at than becoming an expert at all at once.

Some of it is always going to be luck. There are definitely plenty of times where things had to click for me: pathing, card and artifact synergy, skipping rewards, attacking to receive less damage, etc. I've had runs where I was on fire, but it just wasn't enough for the final boss.
