Fewer than 250 were ever completed, and kit production ended in 2012, so catching one in flight, let alone in front of the Moon, qualifies as a genuine rarity.

The Lancair IV-P is a home-built, four-seat, pressurized composite monoplane powered by a twin-turbocharged 350-hp Continental engine. Introduced in the 1990s, it became one of the few single-engine piston aircraft ever to feature a pressurized cabin, & it’s fast, with cruise speeds of 290-330 mph.
