As some of you might recall, last year I designed a card game. I used a label printer to produce the prototype, and it’s now been played and refined such that I’m working on a version that can be printed out and played by anyone. This is what one of the prototype cards looked like:
A prototype card from the game I designed. A plain white card with a thermally printed label in it. It is very plain and simple.

Apparently my criticism of another conspiracy theory theorist makes me a vital part of the "Protein and Peptide" research community.
Dear Dr. M R. X. Dentith,

It is with great pleasure that we extend our warmest invitation to you for The 16th Anniversary of the Protein & Peptide Conference (PepCon-2026), which will be held from July 22–24, 2026, in the vibrant city of Helsinki, Finland.

Given your distinguished background in the field, we would be truly honored to have you deliver a talk on “Conspiracy Theories, Quassim Cassam, 2019. I love this claim, which starts with “I have special skills gleaned from years of experience” but ends with “Statistically it’s quite safe to say almost all stamps are fakes!”
Text says: "I'd have great difficulty explaining it to you, it's purely experience. After 60 years of playing with these things I can tell. There are differences in the paper, the colours, the shades and so. You get a feel for it. Plus the fact that 99% are dud, so you're ahead of the game before you even start," he said.

How it started:
I’m afraid I’m with iwi on this; Pākehā writing on Te Ao Māori issues have to be incredibly cautious. After you, write—somewhat uncritically—“[w]hen cultural beliefs are given parity with science” without talking about how Western scientific paradigms are themselves an example of a cultural belief. This is very well discussed in both the philosophy and sociology of science, and whether or not we think science as a methodology is more truth-seeking or truth-conducive (it depends on your views on scientific realism or anti-realism, along with commitments to what the purpose of science is; either a descriptive or normative system), it is still enmeshed in culture and politics as a practice. Thus, I think when you conclude with cultural beliefs ‘jeopardiz[ing] public trust in scientific institutions and can foster misinformation’ you are playing right into a fairly right-wing, reactionary view that uses Western scientific practices as a cudgel. Indeed, it doesn’t help that you published this piece at the Skeptic website; I would be very wary to associate anything good with Michael Shermer at this time (leaving aside the credible claims of his inappropriate behaviour towards young women at conferences, his turn towards heterodoxy and his worries about ‘wokeness’ make him and his magazine a very suspicious venue at this time).

Is the last line academic enough, do you think?
Most (if not all) conspirators desire to achieve something beneficial at least towards themselves. Thus, conspirators can be said to mostly conspire for their own benefit. This is not to deny that there can be conspiracies of goodness: you can conspire to your own benefit whilst also conspiring to better the world. If you believe that the Special Operations Executive (AKA SOE), run by the British Government in World War II, was acting to end the war as soon as possible (which we might think is to the good), then you have to accept that the conspiracies they ran against the Nazis (such as planting false evidence about multiple invasions of Norway, and arranging the feint that made the D-Day Landings in Normandy something the Nazis were not expecting) were conspiracies of goodness. Admittedly, the Nazis would have disagreed (given the conspiracies run by the SOE were to the detriment of Nazi High Command), but who cares about the feelings of Nazis?

Frankly, when they're the sort of original works of art that I create, yes.'
'Ziller, it doesn't matter. You have to think like a mountain climber.'
'Oh, do I?"
'Yes. Some people take days, sweat buckets, endure pain and cold and risk injury and - in some cases - permanent death to achieve the summit of a mountain only to discover there a party of their peers freshly arrived by aircraft and enjoying a light picnic!
If 1 was one of those climbers I'd be pretty damned annoyed.'
'Well, it is considered rather impolite to land an aircraft on a summit which people are at that moment struggling up to the hard way, but it can and does happen. Good manners indicate that the picnic ought to be shared and that those who arrived by aircraft express awe and respect for the accomplishment of the climbers.'
"The point, of course, is that the people who spent days and sweated b

A very unfortunate typo (or are urologists particularly interested in flying saucers?)
So urologists can tell you all about Area 51, but nothing about the universe. So Da Vinci codists talk endlessly about the bloodlines of Mary Magdalene, but can say nothing about the human heart. In the works of Shakespeare theorizers, this takes the form of a subtext that gradually overwhelms the texts themselves--texts that say so very many important things about both.

It literally ends with this!
“Kiwis and Aussies might source and roast their beans in similar ways, but Kiwis are really squeezing out each bean’s true potential. It’s a distinction that might seem didactic, but for coffee nuts it’s everything.”
